Sometimes I think I am attached to this computer and I want to do other things today.

I am in a book study so I want to start the reading of a great new book.

That mean muscle in my back seems to have completely calmed down but I am being careful.

I know I have said this before but it bears repeating. I wish there was a device that we could attach to our body that goes off when we are doing too much.

Tuesday evening my back was completely pain free. I sat down and did some work on the computer and the pain came back with a vengeance.

I have not been able to do much of anything here due to that muscle spasm on the right side of my back so I am using my left hand to click and scroll.

The right side is still a little sore but it is nothing like it was Tuesday. My Thursday Yoga class helped a lot.

It is the computer. Computers don’t like me in more ways than one.

Finally found a pair of shoes

I have the worst time finding shoes that I can use. Since I have a bone spur that has just about gone away I want to keep on taking my podiatrist’s excellent advice.

I need a shoe that is open in the back and a high heel but not a very high one. You can find shoes that are open in the back but almost all of them have heels high enough to cause serious injury in you fall.

I went to three different stores at the mall and finally found one pair. Yea! Hope they last a while. The other ones I wear around the house are falling apart.

We have book studies at our church and I want to highly recommend Love in a Time of Climate Change by Sharon Delgado.

I have learned a lot from my naturalist husband and am very concerned about how we treat our home planet.

We will be adding a lot of plants that are beneficial to pollinators. There are things we can all do to help.

Yesterday we took some articles to the police station to help people that suffered flooding in Southwest Virginia. The newspaper said the collection would take place July 25th but residents could take them early to the police station.

I wanted to make sure we helped out. When we got there an officer took our stuff and I asked if there was a good response.

He took us to the hall way that was stacked high with boxes! So nice to see people helping others.

It is so hard to believe another year has gone by!  I will never forget what Charles Schultz’s character Linus said to a friend about his grandfather that played Hockey.  His grandfather was still in good enough shape to play sports and his comment to Linus was, “When you are over the hill you pick up speed!”  

 

That certainly is true!  I know I move faster and get a lot more done these days so Cheers!  Another year to move around in!

I am excited about adding my latest Blue Ridge Parkway painting to my portfolio!   It has been a lot of work and I will be glad to move on to another Blue Ridge Vista. 

I am also pleased with my new series, Suggestions!  I am really letting the paint tell me what to do and the results have been great!  I am working on a small scale so I can work fast and keep the spontaneity in them.

Hibiscus Bush is a colorful painting of a neighbors hibiscus bush in Radford city, VA. Sometimes one thing will catch my eye and I want to celebrate it with my colors and textures. I love the way the light hits this bush.

Tulip Dance is an exceptionally vibrant floral. I am especially pleased with the energy and bursting flow to this work. I was listening to David Garrett’s crossover version of Vivaldi’s Summer when I painted it. I think I captured the energy in that music and translated into an exciting flower dance.

My husband and I have been married for more decades than I care to admit to.  Over the years I have seen a lot of couples call it quits which is why I refer to us as dinosaurs.  We go way, way back, just like those huge creatures.  Today it occurred to me which dinosaur we are!  The Tyrannosaurus Wrecks!  Perfect!

My neighbor used to have a bunch of very yappy miniature Dobermans and then they were gone.  Now they are back and I almost hit the carport ceiling yesterday when I got out of my car and one went Napoleon on me at the fence.

 

They sure like to make up for their size by the loudest bark!  They are cute, though.
