I am working away on so many things that I keep getting mixed up and have to tell myself what to do next.  I just finished another Youtube so I can get that up soon and I have done a lot of Social Media Marketing but there is always more of that to do.  I can’t get to a painting today but I hope to do a few more illustrations for Fiddling at Midnight’s Farmhouse before I send all the files to the publisher next week.

I have a Bridal Shower to go to tomorrow so I will have to try to get one done before that.  In a great movie, Mom’s Night Out, the main character has a sign on the inside of her cabinet that says Keep Calm and Mommy on.

I guess I need one that says Keep Calm and Art On.

Commercials, commercials, commercials.  I don’t watch a lot of TV but when I do I am overwhelmed with ads.  I especially hate the drug ads with their wonderful advice to ask your doctor if the drug is right for you.  I never go to the doctor unless I absolutely have to and I let him proscribe the drugs, not TV.

Clyde has a great re-write for the one that claims her loss of energy is restored due to the drug.

Before I started doing these commercial I was poor.  Now I am rich and I don’t care who buys the drug.

I think that sums it up.

I am going to try to modify the cover illustration for Fiddling at Midnight’s Farmhouse.  The publisher said the only way the painting can be cropped is without part of the moon.  I am hoping I can bring it down a little without disrupting the spacing that she has established.  I was hoping it would fit perfectly but it doesn’t.  She is going to have the entire painting in the book for one of the poems.

When I started this blog I really didn’t know what to say other than stuff about my artwork which is difficult.  I communicate through pictures, not words.  After a while I just wanted to have some humor so I started this section of the blog.   I thought I would probably burn out and stop trying for funny stuff even though Clyde supplies me with a lot of it without trying.  It is just the way he is.

I am pleased that I keep coming up with funnies here.  Sometimes I do borrow from other sources but I still keep this section going and I think as long as I have a blog I will keep on laughing as I write.

To cease to learn is to cease to live.  Well, to cease to laugh is also to cease to live!

In honor of my main contributor to this section here are some great bird jokes.

I was so pleased with my latest lizard illustration for Clyde’s book that I told him how much I liked it before I showed it to him so he wouldn’t be sleeping on the couch for finding fault with it.

He wasn’t married yesterday and was quite pleased with it.  I think he was sincere so I didn’t need to threaten him after all. LOL!

Just for fun I looked up some lizard jokes and found a bunch of great ones!

What do you call a lizard that tells jokes?  A Stand up Chameleon.

What do you call a lizard that sings!  A Raptile.

I mentioned those to Clyde and he came up with one.  What do you call a reptile that wants to succeed?  A Iwanaguana.

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Clyde is great about giving me the weather report.  I don’t keep up so I have no idea what is next.

Last night he said there was a chance of rain during the night.

I asked him if it would keep me awake.

He said if a kid in China dropped a coin on the carpet it would keep me awake.

He followed that up with if a bunch of guys at a poker game in China shuffled cards it would give me insomnia for a week.

I would hope for a little rain today to fall on him but he wouldn’t care.  He has no problem walking in the rain.

Oh well.  Back to work.

As I have mentioned before, Clyde calls me from work to wake me up.  He gets up in the middle of the night to go to his job.  Most of the time I am already awake but sometimes he does get me up.

The other day I was so tired I just let out a loud groan when I answered.

He said it sounded like a proposal to put before congress.  He was sure it would get as much attention as other bills.

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

A lot of people believe there is a sock eating monster in the dryer.  How can one sock disapear? When I was in school an Art student made a great claymation video of the monster poking its head in the dryer for socks.

 

I think there is an eye glasses monster that steals my glasses.  I don’t want to get one of those chains but I may have to.  I only allow them to be in one of two places so that’s how I know there is a thief.

I mentioned this to Clyde and he said if that’s true then there are a lot of strange little sock creatures wearing broken glasses running around the house looking for hiding places.

I’m sure he is right!
