I am trying to relax between work. The work never ends but that is the way it is. I will be mailing two paintings out this week so crates have to be made. Crating artwork is a real pain but it just can’t be put in any old box. It has to be double boxed and completely immobilized or it can be damaged. I learned how to do this in school. Also, lots of internet stuff to do.
Relaxing on Sunday is an art.

Lately I have been thinking about all the words we have for old age. Senior citizen is a nice one. It implies seniors are the top of the heap. You have to wonder about “mature”. Considering how our bodies are falling apart mature seems a little off the mark.
I asked Clyde what he thought.
Over ripe might work better.
That sounds about right to me.

I am so pleased to sell another wildflower painting! Wildflower Magic has a lot of subtle color nuances that I am especially proud of. This painting will go to a great Richmond patron who is buying it for his mother’s birthday! Artwork does make for great gifts. As always, wall art prints and prints on just about anything are available by clicking on the link under the painting!

The other day I actually spent some time dusting the house. I am really bad about that chore. Too many hurdles to get around. Even a feather duster can’t take care of the dust in our dump.
When Clyde came home I told him I was dusting because I saw there was an inch of the stuff on everything. I am trying to get it down to half an inch.
Either that or start growing some potatoes.
That sounds like too much work. I can live with a half an inch of dust.

Still working on my latest Pawleys Island painting and I’m sure it will be done soon. I have uploaded the second stage to my website. The final stage will probably not look that different so I will just change the second stage to the final stage. Just tweaking areas right now.

As I have said before we eat as much organic food as possible. I have given up on the homemade frozen yogurt thing with organic ingredients. I can’t find a recipe I like that has less than 400 calories a half a cup so I am sticking with store bought that has 130 a half a cup. If that is because they add sea weed, so be it. I’ll take my chances with their additives.
I make my organic bread and cookies. I was very surprised to see organic oreos so I am buying them sometimes.
I told Clyde how amazed I was to find organic oreos.
Are you sure they weren’t hijacked off an oreo truck and put in to boxes that have organic on the label?
I hope not.

Our bodies certainly change a lot as we age. I knew Clyde would not know about one of my changes.
You know what is really funny about aging?
There is nothing funny about aging.
Yes there is. I have to put on glasses to see the few hairs that grow on the front part of my legs that used to be filled with hair. That hasn’t happened to you. You still have the same amount of beard hair.
Give it time.
Why, what will happen?
It will turn purple.
Why will it turn purple?
So it will glow in the dark and you can find me when I fall.
Now, that is a weird answer.

I am so pleased with my latest shore painting! It took a turn that I didn’t think was going to work out so I thought I had a lot more time to work on it but now I think it just needs some tweaking. The atmosphere is just what I wanted and I hope to add it to my portfolio on my website real soon! Here is the first stage again! Lots and lots of hits and compliments on it!

This rodent is really acting up! The battery was just changed so I know that is not the problem. The selection holds when it feels like it. Sometimes when I select words the mouse mixes up the letters.
Then the real fun one is when I select something and am flipped to a different page on the computer!
Yikes! I complained to Clyde and he said maybe it is time to tie a string on it, drop it out the window and let some cats play with it.
Sounds good to me.

Yikes! Time is tighter than a favorite pair of pants that I have not worn in a while. I bought them thinking I would probably never wear them because they are so tight but they are really comfortable, much to my surprise!
Anyway, I am past the staring point today but have a long run ahead of me. I am determined to get every thing done as I zoom past the finish line!
We’ll see!

For some reason the amount of meat that we get in a serving of take out Chinese food varies quite a lot. I started to get the large because sometimes there just was not enough meat. Clyde gets the small and has noticed that he was getting less and less pork.
He thought they were just getting chincier.
I explained to him that it just varies a lot and yesterday he had more than enough and I had enough for two people.
Now he believes me. He said maybe it just depends on the size of the pig they catch that day.
Ha ha. Pretty sure there isn’t any livestock out back.

Wow! We usually dine out Sunday evenings but there was a tornado watch and a horrible storm going on. We decided to stay put and of course the storm fizzled out. Oh well. That’s the way the weather report goes. I am so tired but I have a lot to do so I had better get to it!

A while back I decided to tackle all the mess in our house a little bit at a time. I have too many regular things to do with housework and artwork to try to organize it all at once. I have finished two rooms, two closets, and a bathroom.
I will spend some time on another closet and then I will bravely enter this room unarmed and wrestle it down. It is filled with mountains of Clyde’s stuff so I don’t know if victory will be mine.
I told him cleaning and organizing a little of it at a time can be done. You can take anything that way.
That’s what the old roach said to the fly swatter. It died anyway.
Okay, that was a weird funnie but I like it!

I am real excited about my current Pawleys Island painting! I have the first layer done and I like it so much that I am offering it for prints! Now it is going to change quite a bit so I can get a much more complicated surface. I hope I will not be sorry that I didn’t leave it as is. Here it is and also in my latest Youtube above!

In my last blog I said our Prius had never gotten over the loss of our Ford so it laid down and died. Well, I guess it decided to carry on because it is now repaired and zooming along! We had to pay for a very expensive battery. The Prius has two batteries and the little one conked out.
Of course, it is past the warranty. Cars parts know just when to die. Some sort of automotive intuition. Anyway, we are glad we don’t have to buy a new car. This one should hobble along for a few more years.
Clyde and I are both hobbling along pretty well. You’d think the car could do the same thing. Our parts aren’t replaceable.

Last August we had to buy a new car as one of our cars laid down and died. I think the other one has never gotten over it and it took a turn for the worse and had to be towed to the repair place.
Since Clyde was without a car today I had to drive him to work which is a 30 minute drive. I like to have some humor in this section and I pretty much depend on Clyde for the funnies.
I didn’t have one today so I asked him if he had anything I could use.
I thought I gave you a few. What did you do with them? Dropped them in the trash wishing they were me?
Wow, he is one glib writer.
Enough said!

We are getting some snow tonight. We just got over 15 inches and now they are predicting an inch. Snow in April. I am really looking forward to warm weather. I found my inner tube that I use on Claytor Lake and I am going to be sure to get away from this computer and swim as much as possible. I am going to keep a close eye on the weather so I won’t get rained out. Lake season! Here I come!

My smart phone that is way smarter than me makes a lot of weird noises. If someone sends a message by messenger it makes a ping pong like noise. Sometimes it makes a strange heaving sound. I think it wants me to look at Facebook when that happens but I am not sure.
The other day Clyde said your phone is singing.
I wish it would shut up. It talks more than I do.
Maybe you should drop it in a pond and a frog will kiss it and shut it up.
Don’t tempt me.
