Lots of regular visitors to our home. The deer mostly stay out of sight but the squirrels and chipmunks are running all over the place. We are starting to name some of the regulars.

I am calling the chipmunk I see sitting on our patio”Chippy” and Clyde is calling the squirrel that keeps showing up at out doorstep “Stupy”.

He does not think squirrels are cute and if you read up on how they behave towards other creatures you might think that cutie with the beautiful tail is a good example of how looks do matter.

Anyway, I like to watch them.

Last Friday was my last swim day at the lake until next summer. There are no life guards now and I don’t like to swim without them.

That 1962 song Sealed with a Kiss by Bryan Hyland kept going through my mind. We have to say good bye for the summer… Of course I didn’t kiss the sand or any one there but I do hate to see the summer end.

I know for me it is goodbye to the summer fun and not about two people separating for the summer months but it sort of fits and is a pretty song.

Anyway, I will be there next year!

I hope this is true. Minnesota is paying people to ditch their lawn and plant pollinator friendly plants and native grasses.

You never know about the internet but I will research this to find out if this is happening.

We have a lot of non native plants that were here when we bought the house. Clyde is looking into planting native flowers that deer don’t like.

Lots of squirrels and chipmunks on our property, not to mention deer families.

I think they think they own the place. Yesterday when Clyde opened the door there was a squirrel right at the doorstep looking at him.

Clyde thinks the squirrel was there to collect rent money.

Go find some nuts. You aren’t getting any from us.

I am way up there in senior years but when I look into the mirror I don’t see any wrinkles. I use a lot of coconut oil.

I asked my husband if the reason I don’t see wrinkles is because the coconut oil is working or I don’t have glasses on.

My smart husband said it is the coconut oil. Yeah, right. It’s the glasses.

Since they are reading glasses I think I will just enjoy not seeing wrinkles.

I couldn’t go yesterday but today I am headed to the lake! It may not be the ocean but, like I always say, no sharks!

These days that is important. When I go to the shore I don’t swim in the ocean. Too much shark activity.

One time I was standing in water up to my shin and a lady next to me said they had seen sharks in water that deep.

Yikes! Sharks don’t really want people but they take exploratory bites. I don’t want to lose a limb while they are figuring out whether or not they want me.

For once I don’t have a thing to say and am too tired to try to think of something up so I will just post a different painting and get to work on other things.

Hoping my current oil painting is dry so I can get to the next layer. Well, there! I did think of something.

I skated in my large garage yesterday and was amazed at how rusty I am. Maybe you can forget how to ride a bike.

I will certainly keep all the protective equipment on and just use regular inline skates. There is something wrong with the right speed skate. There is a button to tighten the cords and it is stuck. The old skates lace up.

Oh well. Glad to be skating again and I am sure it will come back to me.

My husband lived on a farm the first few years of his life and then the family moved to a house his father and grand father built on a rural road with few neighbors.

The farm was family owned so my father-in-law continued to grow crops there. I have never tasted better corn.

Anyway, when I am doubtful about a product I ask my farm boy. There were light brown spots on the inside of my apple today. He said it was okay. So far I am feeling fine.

So pleased to sell a print of a painting in my Whimsy series which is a fanciful set of paintings most of which are based on symbols.

I have a number of creative heart paintings and this time a great Nebraska patron bought Hawk Heart. It is a small painting but sizes range from about 8″ x 10″ to 24″ x 36″.

The company that does my prints is excellent. I have ordered greeting cards and they are great!
