Working at a hundred things at the same time but I am trying to get my latest commissioned painting of an enlargement of Wading on its way to Richmond. Had to take some pictures with very few mishaps. I didn’t trip over the tripod but I did have trouble attaching the camera to it. Sometimes the little gizmo fights me. Anyway, ran into a frame problem so I will be mailing the painting tomorrow.

I always get the Bird report from Clyde and a lot of people think that is all he studies which is not at all true. He studies all wildlife and plants, too.
The other day he told me he was out watching plants grow.
No one watches a plant grow.
It was moving faster than me.
One for the naturalist books. As Charlie Brown would say,”Good grief”.

I have a lot of new ideas for paintings and looking forward to starting them. I want to get back to my main pursuit which is colorful impasto landscape paintings. I also have some ideas from Pawleys Island visits and some wildlife ideas. What I don’t have is someone to add hours to the day. Oh well. I know I am not the only one that wants that sort of help.
Cheers!

We recently watched a movie that had an elaborate wedding. It involved a wedding planner, lots of guests, dance lessons for the wedding party, rehearsal dinner, lots of pre-wedding drama, etc.
We threw something together with the help of my Mom and just had the two immediate families at a club. I didn’t even want a cake but the minister said we should have a cake, but I did not stuff Clyde’s mouth with it. Don’t like that custom.
Anyway, after the movie with the fancy wedding Clyde said if I had wanted all of that stuff he would have gotten a speeding ticket zooming down the interstate in the opposite direction. I think our simple wedding was right for us.

I am getting the crate ready to send my enlargement of Wading to a Richmond painting. Artwork has to be immobilized for protection so it has to be double boxed. It is a pain to cut all the cardboard pieces but it has to be done. The paint is still wet in a number of places so it looks like it won’t be shipped until next week. Oh well, it will be sent out as soon as possible.

I mentioned that Mark Zuckerberg wants to be my Facebook friend and Prince Harry is following me on Twitter. Well, now the official Facebook Office is following me on Google+! Their page has no information but does have a few gullible followers.
Scammers all over the internet. I also get a lot of scam messages on Facebook. Clyde said I should blow them all a kiss.
How do I blow scammers a kiss on the internet?
There is probably a tutorial on that. Look it up.
Ha ha. Yes, Sheldon, that was a sarcastic ha ha.

Paint is still drying on my enlargement of Wading. Some oil paints are dyes and they take forever! Staring at it doesn’t hurry the process. I wish it did. Oh well that’s art for you. Time to get back to some other paintings.

This morning I spent a full hour at a car dealership waiting to find out why my check engine light is on a car we bought in July 2016. When I got home I told Clyde he would never guess in a million years why that light was on.
The gas cap was loose.
How did you know?
It is in the manual.
Then why didn’t you check?
Don’t know.
Okay, do you have a funny for my blog?
You are looking at one.
Not after wasting my time at the dealership.
Okay, nothing today.
That’s for sure. Arghhh!!!!!

Waiting for the paint to dry on my latest commission of Wading. Should be soon. I hope to be able to mail it out at the end of this week! I think it has turned out real well and the patron contacted me to say he was looking forward to getting it.
Below is the original that he wanted an enlargement of. Prints can be bought of this one. I don’t know if I will offer prints of the enlargement. The spacing is a little different due to the change in proportions. Still thinking about that.

Wow, some very important people want to get to know me! Prince Harry is following me on Twitter and Mark Zuckerberg wants to be my friend on Facebook! Scammers to the right of me and scammers to the left of me! Scammers all over the internet.
Clyde said he was sure that Mark Zuckerberg and Prince Harry want to discuss a collaboration of my artwork for the Palace and Facebook!
Just saw a whole pack of pigs flying by my window!

I have just about finished the enlargement of Wading and will send it as soon as it completely dries. I know there are a lot of artists that prefer acrylics and the main reason is the drying time but they just don’t have that rich glow that oils do. To each his own!

Sometimes I think about teaching, mostly I have night mares about it. Clyde didn’t have any problem with standing in front of large groups of students. I had a lot of great students but the problem with teaching is you tend to remember the difficult ones more than the good ones.
I feel sorry for teachers. They have to contend with cell phones and students that think if they learn how to use Google that should be all the education they will need. Saw a cute cartoon with a teacher showing a child 1 + 1 = 2. She said to the child that, yes, she would use this knowledge later in life.
Yikes!

I am real pleased with my latest commission. Enlarging a painting can be tricky, especially if it has complicated brushwork as this one has. The original is only 6″ x 5″ and was painted with acrylics. I am painting the 24″ x 18″ one in oils. Oils is my favorite medium. I hope to have it done in a few days and then send it after it dries.
Also, pleased to sell another print of Marsh View at Pawleys Island to a great Chicago patron! This painting and Breakers at Pawleys island are my two most popular shore paintings!

I was talking to Clyde about how I am getting ditzier and ditzier. I need to read more. I play the piano every day. That is supposed to help but I am doing some really strange things. The other day I cut the plastic to open a cheese packet, got a piece of cheese and then put the scissors and cheese in the drawer. Clyde said one time he put his phone in the frig. He said his brain must be fried. Too much time spent writing poetry. Should have been drinking beer.
Or is it Deconstruction?

Waiting for the paint to dry on my current commission. Some artists work wet-in-wet but I prefer to add layers to dry layers. I think the thin to thick method of painting is the best.
Most people don’t realize that most paintings are done in layers and oil paint layers can take quite a while to dry. Well, I will work on some others while I wait.

I have a tendency to work so hard that I injure myself. Now that I do Yoga every day it doesn’t happen anymore, hardly ever, well, once in a while. I told Clyde I have a new take on the saying, “No rest for the weary”. I say in my case, “No rest for the stupid” .
I doubt I will ever wise up.

I keep hearing this commercial that talks about “Feel Good Fruit”.
I asked Clyde which fruit isn’t “Feel Good”?
The fruit that falls off a tree and hits you in the head.
That makes sense. Especially the fruit that is over ripe and has a tenant.
My Dad used to joke around about being a famous singer when he was young. He said he was so good people would throw fruit at him. He wondered why they threw fruit that was very, very ripe.
LOL!
