I am determined to get out today and go to the lake. I just wish it were a lot hotter. I’m sure that water is like ice water with all this cool weather. I will get in. I have learned to take a very cold shower with my bathing suit on and then the water is not such a shock to the system.
My guys are at work so I will go alone. That’s okay. I have never had much of a problem being alone. I think artists tend to be that way so they can be crazy without people mentioning it all the time.
I’m a happy wacko and I don’t need to be straightened out.
The temperature is rising. Yea!!!!!

Now that Clyde and I have been married for about 100 years I am starting to worry about his longevity. I can’t imagine life without The Word and Bird Man.
No marriage is perfect and there are times I want to set fire to all his stuff in the Computer room but we do get along real well and I hope we die together.
When I was a kid I liked to read Greek myths and there was one about a woman being granted one wish and she wished she and her husband would die together. I thought that was a great wish.
I told Clyde that he had to last as long as me because I didn’t want anyone else.
He replied, “Why, do you think you will do worse? Did I set the bar that low?
We are back from The Peaks of Otter and I am under a pile of work. Yuck! The weather is gorgeous. I can see it from my window, well, sort of. We still have some paper covering most of it to try to ward off birds that keep banging into their reflection.
Still, I know it is a great day and maybe I will see it up close after I sort through everything I have to do. Onwards and upwards and then out the doorwards.

We got away for a few days. Since Clyde’s knee is still bothering him we decided to visit the beautiful Peaks of Otter resort! What a great place! I have done many paintings of the Peaks!
Anyway, since we were only going to be gone for a few days we didn’t ask a neighbor to check on our house and phone messages. There isn’t a lot of valuable stuff to steal in our house so we don’t worry about that.
Clyde said, if they take the computer, fine.
After a pause he added we couldn’t get that lucky.
Considering how it has sucked up so much of my time and I have been known to threaten to re-locate it to the ground outside the window I can see why he said that.
We had a great time! Clyde’s laptop had so many things wrong with it that I couldn’t get any work done!
This time of the year I often take pictures for painting ideas. Most of my paintings are interpretive works from photographs that I take but sometimes I get one that I prefer to present in my Creative photograph series.
Recently I took some pictures of a Great Spangled Friterally and here is one I decided to post in my wildlife photographs album. I have not met the medium I don’t like!

Unlike a lot of people, especially kids, I love broccoli! I look forward to Tuesday night when we get Chinese and I always get a broccoli dish. Actually, to be more accurate, I always get chicken and broccoli but it is embarrassing that I always get the same thing.
Nothing is as good as chicken and broccoli. Anyway, sometimes the broccoli is fantastic and sometimes it is a little less then fantastic and I am getting to the point that I can tell by looking before the first bite.
I told Clyde I must be some sort of broccoli psychic. He said maybe I am a broccoli whisperer. I think that is a bit much.
Oh well, there are a lot of great broccoli jokes on the internet. I love the one where the broccoli says I don’t like you either!

Well, it is that time of year again. Another contribution to my Ant Chronicles. Last year wasn’t very bad and I am hoping for a good summer with little ant activity.
We have tried every ant cure in the entire world and still see ants. So far I keep seeing one in the bathroom which is weird. I asked Clyde why there is only one.
He said it is scouting the place out before getting on a horn and calling in the troops. I don’t doubt it.
Saw a cute joke on the internet about ants. Why was the little ant confused? All his uncles were ants. Love it!

A long time ago I heard the saying about the only two things that are certain in life – death and taxes. Well, after many decades of standing in front of a sink, I would like to add, dirty dishes. I saw a cute saying on the internet about dirty dishes. If you can’t do dishes, don’t eat.
Also, there was one about using edible plates! That sounds like a great idea but then the glasses, utensils and pots would have to be edible and I don’t think my guys would go for that.
Clyde has been working diligently to reduce the size of his pot.

I get a ridiculous number of scams practically every day. I am always a little worried when I see that I have messages on Messenger. I should be glad to see that I have messages but I get a lot of scams so I am very wary about what is there.
Today I received an email thanking me for ordering something that I didn’t order. The thank you made my mind reel with sarcastic replies.
It is tempting to answer the email with,
Thank you for sending me another scam! I have only received five today and three of them shut down my computer. I don’t know what happened to the other two!
A few weeks ago one of them blew up the computer and it fell through the floor after one click on a link which is why we have a new computer! We can’t wait to see what happens next!

The Word Man and I are looking forward to the book launch of Fiddling at Midnight’s Farmhouse on June 16th at Christ Lutheran! His launch is one of a series of literature readings that are hosted by Christ Lutheran.
Clyde came up with the name Rough Draft Coffee House. We celebrate creativity in a coffee house atmosphere.
The name that Clyde came up with goes great with a writers joke I saw on the internet this morning. Why are writers always cold? They are surrounded by rough drafts! Love it!

I am still griping about Towhees in Wildwood Park. To think, I named my studio after that beautiful, but irritating bird. I really get tired of hearing, “Drink your tea”, over and over again on our walks.
I asked Clyde if it had another song. He said it didn’t have one. It was a one-hit wonder long ago and is trying desperately to make a come back. I guess I just have to learn to love it.
I found a joke that applies to this bird.
Why did the bird go to the hospital? To get tweetment.
Maybe if a Towhee got tweetment it could come up with another song. LOL!
