In Virginia texting while driving is against the law. The fines go up to $250. I asked Clyde how can an officer know if someone is texting while driving?
His answer was if the officer sees a car wrapped around a tree with someone hanging out the window holding a cell phone – still texting- that would do it.
Smart Alec. I guess everyone should have blue tooth and talk to their car while driving and leave the phone alone.
So much to do today I am getting dizzy thinking about it. I often think about Einstein’s theories on time and how it can move so slowly for some people.
My time moves like a rocket and I have to run to get aboard! The snow sure looks pretty. Maybe I will escape and walk in it for a little while. That would be great!
Winter Cheers!

Clyde is a mountain man and loves his home. He has walked up and down these mountains countless times and works hard to educate people about this gorgeous region of Virginia.
After spending two and a half hours shoveling snow yesterday he said, “You know you are getting old when you want to move to Florida even though you hate Florida more than snow.
We aren’t moving and he doesn’t want to buy a snow blower. Glad the roads are clear today.
As usual I have more things to do than I can shake a stick at. Do people use that saying anymore? Sometimes I wonder about all the sayings in my head. I’ll bet a lot of them are out of date. Anyway, I will have my work done soon and will get in there to paint. It is a beautiful day and I was going to swim at the lake but I just didn’t want to get ready. My beach shoes need cleaning out. Anyway, the studio is calling me! Cheers!

I am not too happy today. Still trying to get to my next painting but there too many obstacles. I have to take Clyde to the opthalmologist in Salem today.
We had a great doctor here but he was working out of Salem and Radford. Now he is no longer in Radford and Clyde needs drops for glaucoma so we can’t wait until an appointment he has here in August. I don’t want him driving back with dilated eyes on I-81 so I have to take him.
Oh well, health comes first so we will be spending a lot of time in Salem and on the road. Maybe tomorrow I can get started.

I have been working hard at cleaning out various shelves and closets. Inventory is long over do and we hope to be moving in a few years so I want to get rid of things we don’t want anymore.
Yesterday I was cleaning out the cabinet over the stove and found an interesting instruction sheet. It was on what to do if there is a fire. Call 911 was first. Then it said never to put water or flour on the fire. No water? Of course no flour. I don’t want to make pancakes on an out of control fire.
Anyway, I showed the whole instruction pamphlet to Clyde and told him we should probably read it now rather than when we have a fire.
His smart alec remark was why not? We can hold it over the fire and read it and then we will know just what to do!
I can’t believe how fast this day went by! I didn’t get half of what I wanted to get done but I did watch Galaxy Quest with my hubby! A great movie will get this workaholic to slow down every time!
I love all sorts of movies and Galaxy Quest is high on the list of fun comedies! Check it out on Netflix if you want to see a great satire on science fiction productions!

I am so pleased to have a new easel! The tracking on my old one has worn down so much that when I try to adjust the box where the painting is placed the whole thing comes crashing down!
I have been supporting it with a large piece of hard board but the level is still so low that I injured my back on the last large painting so I knew it was time to get a new one.
Now I just need to get in there and get oil paint all over it! Cheers!

I am still not sure what I want to do next. I have so many ideas for new works that it is hard to decide. I have a lot of ideas for new Blue Ridge paintings but I think I want to do another Kendall Expressions painting right now. I miss oils but I am having a great time exploring acrylics.
Anyway, to the studio!
Here is my latest Suggestion painting. I am real proud of the color accents.

We like to watch Judge Judy. I like it more than Clyde but we both get a kick out of her antics and some of the cases are hilarious! So far, knock on wood, we have not had to appear in court for any disputes. I would never appear on TV in a court case but I have read that these people get paid a hefty fee to have their case tried in front of ten million viewers. No wonder they appear there!
Anyway, the other day two litigants cracked me up on the way out. It was a couple that had split up and the woman was arguing that the guy stole her TV. He said he paid for it. Judge Judy ruled in favor of the guy and on the way out their comments were perfectly audible.
I have had so much to do lately that I am having a very hard time getting into the studio. Well, right after this blog I will be in there! I live to paint but this promo takes up so much time. Excited about starting another painting!
Pleased to sell a print of Tulip Dance to a great Colorado patron and a canvas print of Claytor Lake Cabin in Fall to a great Virginia patron! Have a great day everyone!

I am very pleased with my latest Kendall Expressions painting! Tulip Curl is a stunner! I love letting my expressive side fly and am very proud of this series! Be sure to check out the folder on my website.
I am thinking of combining two of my artistic directions into another wildlife painting. It will be a very expressive painting combined with the softness and complicated surface of my mountain series. I hope to be started on it tomorrow. I have to prepare the paper and get my idea finalized!

I have been married to The Word and Bird Man for many decades and my status on Facebook clearly states that I am married yet I get boy friends just about every day sending me flattering notes. I like to joke around about my new guys with Clyde. I’m sure most, if not all of them are scammers as I have mentioned before, but since it is possible that some are sincere I have come up with the perfect comment.
It is great to have you for a Facebook friend but I do not chat online with people that I don’t know personally due to the presence of internet scammers. Read my posts and I will read yours! Have a great day!
Nine times out of ten this works and I don’t hear from them again but there sure are some persistent guys or scammers that try to convince me that they are great guys. I don’t send them a comment but it is hard not to send this one. READ MY FIRST MESSAGE!

We are still tired from out trip but you can’t stop a workaholic. I got a lot done yesterday and will do more today. I am determined to get all my artwork, computer work, and housework done each day.
I am tired of living in a house that is so disorganized that I have such a hard time finding things. I am cleaning out one space each day. I just cleaned out one of the kitchen shelves and found a bunch of things we didn’t know we still had.
The clean up lady marches on!
