Not looking forward to being snowed in tomorrow! I hope the forecast does not come true. If it does I am putting on some boots and walking around in it. I have not done that for a long time and I always used to say if we have to have winter it should come with snow. It really is beautiful and Radford is great about clearing the roads. Maybe Spring will show up on Monday!

Working on the third stage of Rolling Beauty and am not real happy with it. I am going to take a good look at the first stage before I go any further. In the process of pulling out the forms and adjusting color I seem to be losing some of the energy of the piece. Art really is a crap shoot. Right now I will claim victory and retreat until I can get into a better frame of mind.

Just finished another Suggestions paintings and I am off to the pool! I would like to swim in the lake but I am having a little trouble with my left leg so I think it would be great to get in the therapy pool. I am also pleased that my latest Stages of my Art painting is coming along well.
The first stage has more of the color I want but the second stage has more form so in the third stage I will work at recapturing the color contrast of the first stage. I will add the second stage later today. Looking forward to working on it again tomorrow!
Line Dancing was great last night! I finally got the hang of one that is rather difficult – at least difficult for me. We had a good sized class and Tuesday the 25th we will be performing at the Train Station in Pulaski, VA! Come on out! We always have one easy dance we invite the audience to try with us! Lots of fun and The Farmers Market has great stuff there!

The other night we were talking about whales. I have always been fascinated by the shore and marine life. One of my favorite films is Blue Water White Death which was a documentary on the great white shark.
I said to Clyde that I saw a whale once off the Delaware coast when I was eighteen. He said that was nothing, he would be seeing one in a few minutes. He was about to take a shower. Okay so he isn’t as skinny as when we were first married but he is certainly isn’t whale size. LOL!
A few weeks ago someone mentioned that boom boxes were no longer available so when mine boomed its last boom a few days ago I assumed I would have to go get some fancy new CD player. Well, I must have misunderstood what was said to me because there are a number of different types of boom boxes at Walmart.
I was pleased to get just want I wanted yesterday! I can’t practice Line Dancing without music and my computer is in a room without much floor space. Line Dancing is tonight! I always look forward to class!

I hate to be gloomy but I am wondering what is happening to our freedom in the USA. I don’t think the terrorists have to work so hard to frighten us anymore. Our own people have taken care of that. We shouldn’t have to be afraid of a movie theater or a store or a political rally or a race or anywhere else but the thought of being in the wrong place at the wrong time is now a part of my thoughts.
We have always had mentally ill people but we have not always had all these shootings of people going about their daily lives. I don’t want to get into a gun control debate but I wish these horrible events would quit happening so frequently. We can’t stop living to keep from dying but we also shouldn’t have to consider the possibility of being killed for no reason.

I am pleased and a little sad to sell one of my favorite Blue Ridge Mountain paintings, “Another Rocky Knob”. This one is special as it is the main site where my husband has researched birds and butterflies most of his life. He also leads hawk watches there in the fall.
As I have said before, I live to paint but I can’t take them with me so I am glad this painting is going to a good home in Richmond, VA. The patron is buying it for her boyfriend for his birthday! Original artwork is a great gift. It is the unique expression of one artist. Of course, prints will still be available.

I am still griping about how little time there is in a day to get everything done. Both my husband and a WordPress friend said if I had more hours I would just find more things to do. They are right but I would like to try out an addition. I think I would take a little more time off if there were more hours in the day.
Clyde said if it were possible to add two hours to the day the government would tax you for four!
Here are two more paintings of Alan’s friends. Samantha is a little older than Alan but she was very nice to him. She was one of the first neighbors to talk to him from the fence that bordered both our homes. I did a number of paintings of Alan’s friends but Samantha was the only one I asked to pose for me.

Troy Swan was one of Alan’s friend at McHarg Elementary school. He moved away shortly after they became friends and I have often wondered how everything went for him in Richmond. He had a great time at one of Alan’s Birthday parties.

This time of the year my husband spends a lot of time watching migrating hawks from Rocky Knob on The Blue Ridge Parkway and in our backyard. What he doesn’t want to hear is me screaming at the computer. I do get quite frustrated with this machine that has a mind of its own. Yesterday I attempted to load another Youtube about my Floral paintings. The graph said it was 81% complete and there were only fifteen minutes remaining. An hour later there were still fifteen minutes remaining. Argh! I will try again today!
