As I have said many times I love movies and watch them on breaks from work.

One of my favorite movies that was filmed in 1992 was The Last of the Mohicans starring Daniel Day- Lewis.

It occurred to me that I had seen many films with Daniel Day Lewis in the lead. I liked them all. He has retired from acting. I was sorry to hear that but we can all review his work.

Anyway, it is not just the acting, writing, and screen play that enchants me. The music has so much to do with my reaction to a film and the music in this one is especially great.

I highly recommend it.

Why are they in the Laundry room?

I can understand ants in the kitchen. I worked hard to get rid of them. Last night when I was doing the laundry I saw bunches of them on the ledge by the window.

What is in the laundry room that ants would want? I guess I had better ask Clyde. He will know. It is nice having a husband that read the encyclopedias when he was a child and still remembers what he read.

I can’t remember where I put my sweater.

Not sleeping that well and working all day long. I did a lot of housework before going to bed.

So tired but not too tired to get to the lake and swim. I love my little beach without sharks.

Love to joke around with my hubby. Since he is not sleeping that well while he recovers from surgery he takes a nap after lunch.

I asked him if my bagpipes would bother him. He said no. They would lull him to sleep.

Always great to sell prints. It is nice to know that originals and prints are out there. This time a great NC patron bought Memphis Lights.

Memphis Lights is a commissioned painting from my Skyline Beauty series. I have sold a lot of prints of these paintings and several originals.

I haven’t painted any in a while and may do some more. They are all creative interpretations of various skylines and I am proud of them.

The Deer Diner is going strong but they are missing a few flowers here and there. We have two gorgeous Crepe Myrtle trees that have scarlet blooms right now.

We will look into some solutions for next year but fortunately it doesn’t really bother me that much. The flowers are beautiful but I don’t have to have blooms all over the yard. It still looks good to me.

Looking forward to swimming in the lake this week. Now that does matter to me!

As I have said before, one day is the same as the next to me since I have so much to do all the time but I am dragging today.

Faster than Greased Lightening

Not feeling too good today and I have so much to get done so I am going to get to all those chores faster than greased lightening. After I put up that title I realized I did not know where that expression came from so I looked it up. I love to learn and was surprised at the answer.

The expression “faster than greased lightning” appears to be one of the instances of American hyperbole about which British visitors to our shores, a century ago, were always complaining, or secretly envying.

Our ancestors, in the days of Washington, Adams, and Jefferson, were not content to indicate great speed in such a trite manner as “faster than lightning”; instead, knowing that a cart with greased wheels will go faster than if the wheels were dry, they merely greased the lightning.

Yesterday we took some articles to the police station to help people that suffered flooding in Southwest Virginia. The newspaper said the collection would take place July 25th but residents could take them early to the police station.

I wanted to make sure we helped out. When we got there an officer took our stuff and I asked if there was a good response.

He took us to the hall way that was stacked high with boxes! So nice to see people helping others.

Workaholics are hopeless. I knew I was doing a little too much yesterday.

My right shoulder was trying to tell me that but like the disobedient little kid, “I dood it anyway.”

Oh well, it isn’t very bad and I am forcing myself to stay home and not go swimming in the lake. Summer is not over yet. I will get there next week.
