Such a gorgeous day!  Clyde and I got out for a walk in beautiful Bisset Park yesterday!  Glad to get away from work for a while.  Can’t do it today but hope to soon.  Clyde is a one-man educator.  I always learn about birds, butterflies or plants when I walk with him.  I wish everyone had his interests. 

I think if children were taught more about nature they would appreciate the world more and get off their phones.  I liked it better when we didn’t have to take a phone with us.  In the house and on street corners was fine with me. 

Oh well, we can’t stop progress but sometimes I am not so sure what we are told is progress- is progress.  Time to get off the soap box and work in the studio.

I am very pleased with my latest Beautiful Nude painting! I had the first stage on my website but it turned out so well that I just replaced the file with the finished painting that was not much different from the first stage.  Sometimes they really come together without a lot of torment. 

I hope the next one that I just started works out that well.  I have my doubts from the first stage. Not real happy with it.

Oh well.  Never give up and don’t let painting drive you nuts.  That is my motto!

I am so pleased to own an adjustable table for my computer!  Now I can stand up rather than get all stiff in a chair!  The table can easily be adjusted for sitting or standing. I highly recommend it!  They say sitting at a computer is the new smoking. 

I much rather stand to work!  I have always had good feet.  Not as good as they used to be, but they still keep me up! 

Here is the first stage of my new Beautiful Nude!  It is working out very well!  I don’t think this one will be an art arm wrestling match. Hope I am right!

I have been looking for a wedding gift for a  great nephew and bride and I decided a fancy crock pot would be a good one. When Clyde called to get me up I mentioned that to him.

Happy Easter to those that celebrate it! My hairdresser was selling easter eggs to benefit a church so I bought one.  It was a maple one and fantastic!  I am eating a little each day.  Haven’t had an Easter egg since I was a kid getting my own basket.  Great memories of those days.  Loved the Easter egg hunts.  I’ll never forget one that my Dad gave when I was very young.  I don’t remember who it was but a real nice boy was worried I wouldn’t find any so he pointed out some to me.  What a nice guy!  Anyway, for Christians this is a great day of celebration!

One of the biggest problems I have with showing my artwork online is getting the file right.  I can get it right on my computer but all computers are set differently so the colors and contrast will be different on just about every monitor.  No complaints from patrons that have bought originals or prints but I am a worry wort and am so relieved when I get the compliment from the buyer! What is really exasperating is how they look different on different sites.  I do the best I can and I order cards to check out the accuracy of prints.  So far, so good!

I am working on another beautiful, expressive nude and should have a first stage file up tomorrow!  Love to work with the figure in paint!

Well, I managed to send out my first Wix newsletter without too much screaming at the computer.  You would think this sort of thing would be easy, but I am definitely computer challenged.  I didn’t quite get it the way I wanted it to be but it was sent out and received.  I don’t know how to see who opened it yet but I will stumble around until I find that info.  I did have some bounced emails so I will have to clean up my list.  I sometimes wonder if the bounce is correct.  I have had some bounce on one newsletter and then open in the next.  Maybe their email box was too full.  Oh well, I will remove the bounced ones or Wix will get mad at me.

A while back my sister was asking about our Subaru Forrester.  If it were up to me we would get a cheap car but Clyde is better at purchasing things than I am.  I look at the price tag, he looks at the car so we got a good one. 

She was considering buying one but she thought she would like something a little bigger so she bought a Subaru Outback. 

Clyde said that is so she can keep it out back and take up the whole field.  She has a few acres.  We don’t.

Her name is Sue so her husband calls the new car Sue’sbaru.

I am really getting into Acrylics these days. I can remember a time when I just didn’t like them at all.  The fast drying time didn’t work well with the way I used to paint but now I can pretty much make paint sit up and beg.  I will always like oils the best but now the fast drying time of acrylics is an asset to certain types of my paintings.  Since I am working on some expressive nude paintings I am pleased to be able to paint many layers in the first stages.  The colors are strong and sometimes a water medium is great!  No smell of mineral spirits.  Anyway, check out the first stage of my new nude!  I don’t have a title for it yet and it is not on my website but it will be soon!

I am having such a hard time getting to my Wix site due to all the other internet stuff I do that I may take a break from WordPress for a while and see if I can get a blog going there.  My wix site is free right now so I probably won’t get much traffic but I want to get it going before I upgrade.  I think I need to be more centrally located to get more exposure for my artwork.  It is a beautiful day and I was able to begin another Beautiful Nude painting that I will add soon.  I am not happy with the first stage so I am going to wait until the next layer before adding it.  I love to work with the figure!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

I think I have mentioned before that I have always had trouble with grammar.  I thought those line diagrams sentences were too weird to understand and simile and metaphor don’t make sense to me.  No one can be a pig.  They can be like a pig but they can’t be a pig.  Anyway,  I also have big time problems with not ending a sentence with a preposition.  Who are you going with? makes much more sense to me than With whom are you going? 

Clyde came up with a good one.

Ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put. 

Yikes!  I think I will continue to hide out from the Grammar Police.

I am so glad to have some warm weather!  Such a long winter and my skin has dried out so much it itches.  My doctor said I may have some eczema so I am going to buy some hydrocortizone.  Lots to do today but I hope I can get out for a walk.  Hope it does not rain. 

I don’t have anything from The Word and Bird Man but I did see a great funnie on Facebook. It was a picture of a ground hog singing into a mike.  The lyrics were, I am nothing but a ground hog, lying all the time!  That is for sure!
