Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

So far I have kept my promise to stop ranting about my computer so I am on to another modern gadget that is extremely annoying.  I am talking about the remote.

We have a pile of remotes in the living room that I have no idea what they belong to.  I guess they are for old TVs or VCRs or whatever.  I wish one of us had thought about getting rid of them before they became antiques.

Recently we had to add another gadget to our TV to keep getting cable.  When we were done, we had two remotes.  One to turn it off and on and one to change channels and volume.  We didn’t think that was right so we called the company and went through a tricky process to get it down to one.  Whoopy!

Many of the buttons for my DVD remote do not work so when I need those buttons I have to borrow my sons remote.  Fortunately his DVD player is the same one we have in our bed room.

Last night after Clyde went and got his remote so we could watch our River Monsters episode he commented that maybe one day we will need a remote to get out of bed.

I honestly hope I do not live to see that day.

Yesterday I decided to get some shots of my latest Blue Ridge Parkway painting in spite of the wind.  I have to take shots outdoors in order to get an acceptable photo for prints.  It was a little windy but the tripod did not fall over, I got some excellent large and small files and the camera is still in great shape!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

I have decided to quit griping about our computer.  After all, it is an amazing machine that does a lot of work for me.  I sell artwork through it and show my work to the world because of this invention.

Having said that I have one more for the road.  I may get exasperated and break this vow but I do want to get in one more gripe before I start.

The other night we were talking about how neither of us wants to have a gun around.  I would probably shoot my foot.  Clyde said he didn’t want a gun for protection but he would like one to shoot the computer.  I may have mentioned something like that before, but it bears repeating!  Okay, last computer gripe for a while.  I hope I can keep that vow for at least a day!
