Our move is coming along. We are getting so much done on our house and had a big surprise yesterday. The nice young couple that lives next door with two toddlers want a bigger house and ours is much bigger than theirs. They came over and want to buy it.

How nice to already have a buyer! They are getting first dibs when we put it up for sale. They have been trying to find one but houses are moving so fast that they can’t get in there fast enough.

We are getting a lot of repairs done. The landscaping is about done. I think they took out too much but I guess I just like a lot of big bushes and flowers. Oh well, it certainly looks tidy now. I keep looking at my new coneflower painting and wish I could get back to it. Maybe next week.

Our trash cans are filling up with trash that has accumulated for quite some time but clothes will go to the Clothing Bank and Good Will. Moving is certainly a lot of work.

Always great to sell prints and originals of the gorgeous Blue Ridge mountains.This time a wall art print was purchased of Buena Vista by a great NC patron! I am very proud of the brushwork and color nuances in this work.

I love coneflowers and have included a number of different interpretations of them. I am working on a new impasto oil version that is coming along. The light effect is what is especially important to me and I want it to have a strong coloristic effect. Baroque on color!

Argh!!! I really don’t think I picked a previous post to work on but when I looked at the last one to check on it had been modified. I guess I must have altered it thinking I was on the draft for this one.

Computers and me are not good friends. Maybe someday. Anyway, I finally found some time to work on my lastest floral and feeling a lot better.

I certainly understand why Renoir strapped a brush to his arm and kept on painting from a wheel chair when he developed debilitating arthritis.

We are still working away on getting ready to move and so far, so good! So little time to paint.

Well, I can at least look at some of my florals and the flowers outside but I am having such a hard time getting back to work.

So much to do before we move. We have some people coming over to landscape. Our bushes practically cover the windows.

We got a great price on movers since we don’t want to move all this stuff. They will pack everything, too! It really pays not to let so much stuff accumulate. The price we were quoted was a third of the one some friends were quoted and theirs was the price if they packed everything.

I am running around in circles but I wanted to be sure to post my latest sales of two of my favorite Blue Ridge paintings. Rock Castle Gorge is now in a lovely home in South Carolina and the patron says it is beautiful!

I always worry about paintings in transit but it arrived safely. The large ones have to be in wooden crates which is always a hassle but I have many years of experience with crates.

Also, a small Blue Ridge painting was purchased by a great North Carolina patron and she is so pleased to put it into her Claytor lake home with some of my prints, too. I wish I could get to my latest painting but I have too many other things to attend to right now so maybe tomorrow.

So glad I put away my latest large painting because I am running into other studio problems that I have to deal with. I hope to get back to my small floral that I barely began weeks ago before I was hired for a commission. Maybe tomorrow.

We did get to see fireworks on the fourth with friends. That was so nice! It is hard for me to get away from my studio and artwork promotions. After a difficult time, my back is a little sore which always worries me since I ruptured a disc many years ago. I am so much stronger now that I doubt that will happen again but I do get a little scared when I am working away.

Anyway, I am so pleased to sell some large prints of favorite mountain scenes in the New River Valley. Love this beautiful region of Virginia! Large prints of all three New River Valley paintings in this blog were sold to great patrons in North and South Carolina.

Having such a hard time with my latest painting that I have put it away for a while. It is getting to be too much so I am going to move on to a smaller one and try to work with the same brushwork that I am using on the large one and check it out later.

I don’t usually do this but I am tired of trying to find the time to work on the large one. A smaller one will suit my time constraints right now. It is always surprising when a painting that starts out so well takes a nose dive off a cliff but I don’t give up on them. I use to, but not anymore. Anyway, the little one will be a floral so I have included some favorites here.
