Whatever happened to paper forms? Today I spent an hour and fifteen minutes trying to straighten out an online service.  The representative was very helpful and she said all the problems I was having with the form was because it is made tricky in an effort to outsmart scammers and imposters.  Yikes!  She helped me fill out the form over and over again as it was refused for one reason or another. 

After an hour I told her I was about ready to open a vein.  She laughed and then apologized for laughing.  I wasn’t offended.  It was just a joke but I was trying to indicate how frustrated I was.  I claimed victory and retreated.  Will try again another day.  ARGHHHH! 

Be sure to check out this week’s video!  I was in the mood for a Whimsy painting this time and used a fun toy elephant bank my mother-in-law gave us.  She is giving her kids some mementos from their childhood. I think I turned it into an expressive visual experience!

Wow! Today at the Grocery store I saw something I never thought I would see again!  Someone was underneath his car working on it!  I said to what appeared to be his wife I was amazed and didn’t think anyone knew how to work on a car anymore.  She smiled and said, he can!  She looked very proud.  I don’t blame her.  Everything is so complicated today that we need all kinds of help for just about everything we depend on. 

I have no idea how to fix a computer, T.V.,refrigerator, car, etc.  The computer takeover has made it especially difficult for a lot of us.  As I have said before, if they ever computerize a bathroom, I will have to get an out house! 

Anyway, still working hard on some Suggestion paintings,  youtubes, and a new Blue Ridge Parkway painting of the James River! I think I am taking the, I live to paint statement, to new heights or lows depending on how well my feet hold out!

I am pleased with the first stage of my latest Blue Ridge Parkway painting of the James.  I love to paint water.  I remember years ago reading about the friendship between Eugene Delacroix and Frederic Chopin.  Delacroix was an amateur pianist as well as a great painter so I am sure they had a lot to talk about. 

In one conversation Delacroix was attempting to explain the mysterious quality of a reflection to Chopin.  I don’t think he quite understood but I know exactly what he was talking about.  No matter how clear the reflection is, it is quite different from what it is reflecting.  There is a limpid quality that I love to work with.

Life with The Word and Bird Man Clyde Kessler

Clyde and I are having trouble remembering things we need to get done.  Calendars don’t help.  We forget to look at it so now we hang notes from the kitchen archway and cross them out as we get the chore finished. 

This seems to work for now.  But what happens when we are so used to the note hanging there that we forget to read it?  Not likely but possible. 

Clyde has to have eye medicine that is not optional.  The other day he was worrying about forgetting to get it. 

Maybe if we pin a note to your backside I will be sure to see it and send you for the medicine! 

Well, that takes memory problems to new lows or highs depending on where you pin the note.

  I can’t believe I am finally getting to my blog.  I wanted to write something this morning but two many things got in the way.  Oh well, another Monday shot down the drain.  How does Tuesday get here so quickly?

I have started a new Blue Ridge Parkway painting and am trying to video tape the whole process which will take some time.  Then I am going to look into a time lapse version.  Hope that will not be too difficult.

I am so pleased to sell another Blue Ridge Parkway painting to a great Virginia patron!  This one is of Rock Castle Gorge.  I have a number of paintings of this beautiful section of the Parkway.  It is my favorite section of the Blue Ridge and my most popular mountain painting is A Break in the Clouds which was done from this overlook. 

I use to tease my husband that he should have a mail box there since it is the main place where he researches birds and butterflies and where he has led many Hawk watches over the years.  As always wall art prints and prints on just about anything are available.

A little frustrated today so I bought some caramel topping to add to my frozen vanilla yogurt.  I am one of those obnoxious calorie counters so my frozen yogurt will not be swimming in it. Hey, it has worked for me since High School and I finally have one convert. 

Clyde lost one pound a week for thirty weeks and has kept it off for two years.  He has no complaints about keeping up with calories.   Now he is as obnoxious as me about it but he wisely just makes his comments to me.  Since he lost weight without starving or giving up much of anything he normally eats he can’t understand why others don’t do that.

Anyway, too much to do and too little time.  That always gets me down.  We are going to the lake tomorrow so I will get away from all this frustration.  Shouldn’t complain.  So many great things in my life to concentrate on and as a friend once said, “What is the use of complaining?  Someone will always complain louder?”  Isn’t that the truth?

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Dirty Dishes, dirty dishes, dirty dishes.  When I was young a friend that had just gotten married said dirty dishes breed like rabbits.  I spend so much time washing dishes that I want to start slinging them out the window. Not a smart thing to do.  Today Clyde did the morning dishes while I got ready for church and did some computer chores.  After lunch they were piled up again. 

I told him that maybe my friend was right.  They multiply. 

I think some of the dirty ones sneak outside and then come back in when we aren’t looking. 

How can they sneak outside?  We would see them. 

Maybe they have some sort of invisibility cloak. 

Arggh!  Maybe the real aliens among us are in our cabinets?  Yeah, sure.  Time to do more dishes.

Racing with the clock again!  So much to do.  I can’t imagine having a lot of time to just goof off and watch TV.  I watch a little TV for breaks but not much.  I love movies!  So glad they can be paused so I can watch them over days. 

Anyway, I am going to start another Blue Ridge painting and shoot another Suggestions painting video today and tomorrow.  I am going to videotape the Blue Ridge painting and see if I can combine many videos of it for a timelapse one.  That will be way in the future but the Suggestions one will be up soon!
