What a great Thanksgiving! I love to see family in Ferrum! Hope to see my side of the family soon! The Kesslers are great people and we always have such a fun time laughing and eating! I am not a great cook but I am good at brownies and candied sweet potatoes. I have recipes from an old cook book that is excellent!
People always comment on my fudge brownies. I only brought home three and they will be gone soon. Hope everyone had a great day!

I am determined to get a lot of things done today that I was going to do last night but there was a great drama on PBS that I kept trying to tear myself away from and just couldn’t. The Chaperone that was based on the life of a famous actress and dancer Louise Brooks was great! Loved it!
I mostly watch DVDS because I can’t take all those commercials that seem to get worse and worse. One of these days the commercials will have more air time than the program. That’s a joke but I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened. Not surprised there are programs that are just one big commercial.
Anyway, so far no weird things have happened on this Monday. Smiling and working! Cheers! Be sure to check out my Monday video! One a week is tough but I am determined to make it happen!

Wow! Today I turned on the TV and was amazed to see two young girls slamming away at a stump with axes! It was The Timber Sports Competition! I had no idea there was something like that. It really wasn’t that exciting to see. Clyde was especially bored.
Clydes says the next thing will be a Mud Drying Competition. A player will say my mud is the fastest drying mud this side of the Sahara!
The Mud Drying Competition is definitely next! Maybe they can include a pig to jazz up the sport! Maybe the pig could be the judge!
LOL! No offense to people that can split wood or the competition!

Yikes! I practically live in front of a computer or in my studio and the insect on my thigh was a deer tick! How in the world did I get a deer tick. I am hardly ever outside. I guess one came in to get warm and attached itself to me. Little stinker. They sure are small.
Clyde’s entomologist friend confirmed it was a deer tick but said he didn’t think it had bit me. Well, then why was there a pretty big crater in my leg with what looked like a tag hanging down that covered the tick? Anyway, I had blood drawn for the Lymes disease test. Not taking any chances.

Oh Yuck! Saturday night I noticed an itchy place on the back of my right thigh. It looked like a tag that had become irritated due to scratching. It was quite red and it looked like there was a little blood around the place where it was attached to my thigh.
Well, yesterday I took a better look in better light and saw what looked like some little black hairs around it and it looked more like something that was burrowing into my thigh rather than a tag so I tried to pull it and underneath the flesh was a very small dark insect. I used a magnifying glass to try to figure out what it was. I was relieved to see it had antennae and six legs. Ticks do not have antennae and they have eight legs. I think it is probably my first bed bug ever.
My yearly dermatology appointment is tomorrow. I will get the verdict on that and some other concerns. It certainly is another Monday with a lot to do and a lot of problems. On to the others! We all just march on! Be sure to click on my new Youtube below that was uploaded today!

Technology and me do not mix and it is almost always my fault. I worked on another Demo Youtube today and it ran too long. I was just about finished when the beep came on. Not enough room on the card. ARGGH! I knew it was longer than some of my other ones but I didn’t think it was that long.
Oh well. From now on I will have a clock in front of me so I can make sure it does not run over. Since the paintings are done in layers I think I will still use this one and just get to the next layer.
Anyway, I am glad to sell another print of Memphis Lights to a great VA patron! Sold a lot of prints of this commissioned painting. It is my best selling Skyline Beauty painting!

As I have said before, my Yoga Mantra that I keep to myself is, “I hate Yoga, I hate Yoga, I hate Yoga.” I would never tell our great teacher that and I will never stop going to class. Yoga is so helpful. Monday I hurt my back and thought I was in for a bad spell. I took it easy and by nightfall it was hardly hurting at all.
Tuesday morning the pain was completely gone! I really think that is because I do Yoga every day. I don’t like doing it at all but I love what it does for me. I guess I should try a more positive mantra. Not going to happen. I would rather be painting or just about anything else.
Anyway, Yoga really does rock! Maybe one of these days my mantra will be, “Yoga rocks, yoga rocks, yoga rocks!” I think everyone should force themselves to do it!

I had big plans for all the things I wanted to do today and then Monday decided to clobber me right in the lower back. Yikes! Oh well. I forced myself to take it easy after I moved one too many things in the studio.
Still sore but feeling better now. So hard for me to take it easy but thankfully there are so many great DVDS to watch! Hope I can go to Yoga tomorrow. Back to resting. Yuck!

I am pleased to present a new Collection on my Website called Simple Variations! There are only two paintings there right now but there will be more. All of my work is loaded with all the colors of the rainbow in small brushmarks and complicated systems of texture.
Some of them are impasto paintings. Thees painting have a unique surface that has different elevations throughout the painting.
In this collection I am taking a much simpler approach with just a few colors and none of them are impasto paintings. They are all acrylic paintings on small pieces of paper with a colored paper background.
Something different! Very different for me!

A few days ago Clyde and I went out for a cup of coffee, just coffee. It was nice to get away from the computer and relax. When the waitress brought us the coffee she didn’t bring any straws. When Clyde picked his up to drink it I was surprised. I always use straws.
You are going to drink that without a straw?
Yes.
I always use straws when I eat out.
Well, I am Macho Coffee drinker.
Okay. I get the hint. Mucho Macho Muchacho!
