Still complaining about computers. I keep trying to work on my Wix site and weird things happen that are not supposed to happen. I wonder if it is a cache problem. Every time I mention to Clyde we need to clean out the cache I get some sort of run around about how that would mess other things up. I would handle these problems myself but I think it wise to listen to someone that is on a computer eight hours every day. I am sure he knows more than I do about this machine that helps and irks me every day. I don’t get as mad at it as I used to. All these road blocks just seem to be part of the experience now and I am tired of throwing tamtrums so I will keep on trying. I know there is a friendly button somewhere that I am missing. I will keep on looking.

I am getting real tired of these commercials with people that claim they have a car but don’t use it because they can’t afford insurance. I don’t believe that one for a minute. I’m sure there are plenty of people driving without insurance. The courts are full of them. I mentioned that to Clyde when one came on carrying a large bag next to her children.
Sure, she doesn’t drive. She has a gun in that bag. Give me a ride or else!
I think my scenario of driving without insurance is more likely.

I am having a great time with my latest wildflower painting and hope to get the second layer done soon. More and more I am letting the paint take shape with a strong impasto effect that seems to melt beautifully into the canvas. I have seen a number of how to paint youtubes that are speeded up so the viewer does not have to watch for a such a long time. It is fun to see the work look like it is magically appearing.
I may do one of those myself. I tried a while back but had trouble with the software which is never a surprise. As usual, I am not figuring out the instructions on a computer. I now have two blank pages on my Wix site that I did not mean to add. According to the site, one of my pages needed to be modified. When I did a blank page appeared.
Computers, computers, computers. I keep plugging along while they trip me up at every opportunity. Time to paint. I don’t need a computer for that.

Nothing from The Word Man today but he did get a kick out of a great funny I saw about artists by Pablo Picasso. Art critics look at art and talk about design, color, texture, and meaning. When artists get together to talk about art they talk about the best place to get cheap turpentine. Love it!

I received some bad news a few days ago. A great friend, teacher, and excellent artist found out she had cancer throughout her body and just had a few days to live. She and her wonderful husband had recently moved to Williamsburg to be near her son and were awaiting the birth of their first grand child. Her daughter-in-law was due so a decision was made to induce labor so she could see the baby before she passed. She was able to see the baby and say, “I’m a grandmother!”. She passed yesterday evening and we will all miss her.

Nothing funny today. Clyde and I are both saddened by the loss of Jeannie Albertson Fender. We have been talking about her life and her husband Richard and the trip to Paris I took with her and two other friends a while back. When we returned we took a short trip to my parent’s house in McLean, VA and had a nice time. It is sad to think that out of that group that chatted and had refreshments, only two of us are left.
My Dad came home early from the office to see us. He already knew Patty but he had never met Jeannie. He was such an outgoing gregarious guy that he gave them both a kiss on their cheeks. Jeannie was so pleased she said, “I want another one!”. Dad give her another one and then we had a great talk about Paris. I went on a number of other trips and outings with Jeannie. I am so sorry she is gone.

I am so pleased that my Line Dancing teacher has started class again! She has been very ill with Lyme disease and is still on pain medication but we are back on the floor! I love to dance and it is great exercise. She always gives us quite a work out! Looking forward to taking class every week!

Tuesday there were about 30 vultures at the end of our street picking through trash. I told Clyde about it and asked he is had a funny about vultures for my blog. He has been asked to speak for the vultures since people want to send them away. They are firing rockets to try to get them to leave. Where are they supposed to go?
Clyde hates to get in the middle of this because people that support the vultures become his good friend and those that don’t become his enemy. There is no middle ground. So he said he could not come up with a funny.
Vulture humor doesn’t fly with me. He did it anyway!
Also saw a cute vulture joke. Keep calm and carrion. I hope we can carrion here and not send them packing.

I can’t believe I am starting a new series of nightmares. I wish I did not remember my dreams so vividly. I don’t think I will ever stop having nightmares about teaching despite the fact that I did well and received great evaluations- but now I am having nightmares about playing the piano at church.
I guess I have these dreams because I have very bad stage fright or I am just nuts. That’s okay. I will keep on playing. Our former organist said after a while you just play and the stage fright goes away. Hope so! Now back to my studio where no one sees me paint! Yes!!!!

Clyde is a fan of The X Files. I never could get interested in it. The other day I asked Clyde if he thought there really might be some aliens on earth.
Sure, every time I look into the mirror.
Ha ha.
Actually, no. If there were aliens on earth they would either leave or use some bug spray on us.
I hope they leave.

I am very pleased to sell a large print of Wildflowers Near Fancy Gap to a great Canadian family that sent me such a terrific compliment on my artwork! A great Ohio patron owns the original. The Blue Ridge Parkway is such a great place to get ideas for paintings. These wildflowers caught my eye and I based a very expressive impasto painting on a photograph I took of them.
Be sure to check out my flower gallery on my website. I have quite a number of floral paintings that I am very proud of.

I can’t remember if I mentioned before that I do not have an engagement ring. I am not about to go through all my posts to find out. Anyway, I don’t have one because I didn’t want Clyde to put a lot of money into something that I would probably lose. I can keep up with large things but not small things. It took a long time for me to realize that most people think the absence of a ring(I did lose the wedding ring) is a definite indication of marital status.
I decided to buy a $9 fake diamond ring at Walmart so people, especially guys at places where I line dance with my class, would not have any doubt of my marital status. I have no problem with losing a cheapo ring. The other day I said to Clyde that I really liked the engagement ring he finally got me.
He said he it was about time I found the box of cracker jacks he bought me.
