I am taking a short break from my Skyline Beauty series to work on a portrait of Abraham Lincoln. I like to make portraits of people I admire and hope to paint many more. I am real pleased with the first stage of this painting! It will be in color but the first black and white stage is captivating!
As I said last time, we really are wrapped up in our computers these days but when the first thing you hear when you wake up is a sleep commercial character saying she needs an answer to her email before you wake up, you know things are getting out of hand!
My son turns on the TV in the morning and that line greeted me as I got out of bed. Yikes!!!!
I told Clyde and he said it is probably in his spam folder and he ignored it. Good cover!
I saw this joke somewhere online. Sleep is for people without the internet. Oh no!!!!!! Time to step away from the computer!
I am so pleased to sell prints from completely different galleries on my website! A great West Virginia patron bought a print of The Lodge at Peaks of Otter and a great Charlotte NC patron bought a print of Charlotte Flip! All of my different directions are getting around!
I am so pleased that a great home has been found for my favorite painting from my Kendall Expressions series! Eagle Fire will go to a great New Jersey patron! Be sure to check out more of these exciting paintings in my Kendall Expressions gallery on my website! The link to the gallery is below the link to the painting.
As we are all aware, there is a lot of misinformation on the TV. This, is, of course, nothing new. The publisher William Randolph Hearst made a lot of money in the 1920’s and ’30s on yellow journalism that created some myths about various groups in this country.
Clyde is becoming more and more aggravated with certain programs on TV.
Lots of rain for days and days. I don’t mind rainy days. You don’t have to wear sun glasses and I like the sound of it but I do think after a while it affects my mood. Time to think of some sunny thoughts as I get all my work done!
Side Street Original 16″ x 20″ Acrylic Painting SOLD
There are a lot of funny names for diets. One of my favorites is the Seafood diet. I see food and I eat it. Clyde’s sister came up with one that I hadn’t heard before. She has neuropathy and has to take medication for severe pain in her legs and, of course, has a very restricted diet.
She is on The Spit it out Diet. If it tastes good, spit it out. Yikes! So far, in spite of my love of sugar I don’t have diabetes and hope to keep it that way. I tried to give up refined sugar twice. Can’t do it.
I think we should all take a minute to pause and give all diets a big raspberry! None of us are getting out of this alive and I am not giving up my sweets, but I do believe we should try to have a reasonably good diet so we won’t be miserable while we are here.
I love to play my piano every day but I hate having it tuned. That hour of noise is awful! I have a great tuner who takes great care of my piano and he did that today. My ears are still ringing. I wish there were a magical way to tune a piano without any sound. LOL!
Check out my latest Skyline Beauty painting! I am now working on Chicago scenes!
Chicago Spin Original 12″ x 9″ Acrylic Painting $236
I am so pleased to sell a print of Yin Yang to a great Wisconsin patron! My Whimsy gallery on my website is catching on! Be sure to check it out! This time the print is on a puzzle! Be sure to check out my work on Zazzle for my work on a zillion items. It isn’t always about the wall!
The guys are out of the house for a while so it is very quiet and I am determined to get my computer work done so I can paint. I spent thirty minutes with internet service people trying to get messenger back on Facebook. I did it this time without any cussing or a desire to throw the computer out the window!
You really can teach old dogs new tricks but I still don’t want to learn how to create digital paintings. Not for me. Love my oil paint!
Sweet Pea Morning on The Blue Ridge Original 24″ x 18″ Oil Painting $884
Well, I am starting off the New Year with our very old computer. My printer has a mind of its own. I printed out a photograph with no problem and then when I tried to print out a very short text document it just printed out a blank piece of paper.
Clyde said if it could talk, it would say that’s all for 2017. Happy New Year!
So pleased to sell a print of Heart Twirl to a great Minnesota patron! If I had to pick a favorite out of my heart paintings it would be this one. The brushwork and vibrant color make it a terrific visual experience! Be sure to check out more in my Whimsy and Suggestions galleries on my website!
Clyde is still working away on Mount Clydemore which is becoming MountClydeless. It sways to the right and then the left but things from the summit are being taken down and either eliminated or reassigned.
A lot of his naturalist records are being recorded on Cornell and other sites where he hopes the information will be of use.
This room looks like something you would see at a recycling station when it is full and people just leave their stuff so they don’t have to take it home again.
It used to bother me but considering all the important information that is all over the place, it doesn’t bother me now.
Way to much to to today and I have a meeting with my son’s supervisors at 2:00. Yikes! Today should be a slightly lazy day since the guys are back at work and I have the house to myself. I never stop but I was looking forward to taking a little time off to stare at the snow. I just looked out the window, so that’s it. Back to work. Cheers!
As I have mentioned before, I like to think the reason our computer room is a disaster with all of Clyde’s archives is because he is a genius. I read somewhere that geniuses are in to so many things they can’t possibly keep it all organized.
Okay, let’s go with that. I call it Mount Clydemore and every once in a while it erupts! Clyde has been working hard the last few days to try to straighten it out. Good luck!
Anyway, there was an hilarious joke on Twitter that we both got a big kick out of.
God gives his biggest battles to his greatest soldiers.
He must have me confused with Rambo.
Love it! Clyde may need a Rambo to straighten out his mess.
The guys are home today due to the snow so I am hiding the mouse in my pants pocket whenever they come near the computer room. I have an ipad but I hate using it. Too small. So much to do and it is too cold to walk in the snow. I have boots and cleats. I hope to get out there before the weather is 60%. What a roller coaster winter!
