Be Careful about what you say to an Otter…

Please check out one of my latest Youtubes and send it to Stumbleupon!

My husband is always up early on the week-end so he can observe the wildlife by the New River.

Today he saw an impressive array of cormorants, one osprey, a flock of house sparrows, otters, and a lot of other birds that I don’t remember.   He has left again for a walk.

He told me that one time he tried to imitate the sound he heard from the otters in the river and they turned and gave him a menacing look!   He uses his own bird calls all the time but he decided he better not talk to the otters.  They obviously didn’t like what he said!

I hope you enjoyed my portraits by an artist of The Blue Ridge Parkway!

That was CLOSE!

We had to travel I-81 today with trucks everywhere!  What a congested road!  We took turns driving and we both kept a close watch on all the traffic.   We were getting pretty close to home when we were traveling in the left lane with a huge truck in the right lane.  There was so much traffic my husband couldn’t get around it.

I was getting a little uptight when the truck started to slide into our lane!  I yelled at my husband to hit the horn when the driver must have awakened  and moved back into the right lane.

I can’t say for sure that he had fallen asleep but that was the closest we have ever come to being creamed by a truck!  Yikes!
