I am real excited about my new painting! Since I love music so much I have decided to paint some of my heroes. I already have one of David Garrett but I can not offer it or prints of it for sale. I can offer paintings of musicians from long ago for sale so that is another project I want to work on.
I am starting with a portrait of Beethoven and I intend to make it very expressive and upload it in my Stages of my Artwork gallery and my Kendall Expressions gallery. As soon as I get off the computer I will get it started

I don’t have anything from The Word Man today. He hasn’t been feeling well lately. We think he is having allergy problems. I think he should get tested to see what is bugging him. He is dragging his sinuses- I mean feet.
Anyway, there was a great joke on Facebook yesterday. I love chocolate and so does Clyde so I hope this doesn’t happen to us someday.
A guy is sitting in an arm chair trying to change channels with a remote when his wife comes in and tells him it isn’t the remote, it is a bar of chocolate. Yikes! The fun of aging!

I am having a problem with the gear shift in my old car. I had to travel a little further than usual and didn’t have any trouble with it so, of course, I forgot about the problem and made two stops I didn’t need to make on the way home. It was fine at the first stop but acted up at the second stop.
It took a while, but finally I was able to shift into drive. As my Dad always said, “Pay attention”. I am such a drifter off type of person. Anyway, I am home safe and sound.

Clyde likes to listen to Blues music. Oftentimes he will listen to a station on TV that just has the music with some background on the artists.
I brush and floss my teeth all day long. That is, of course, an exaggeration but when my dental hygienist said I had heavy build up even though I brushed three times a day and flossed at night I decided to work harder at keeping my teeth clean. I even have a kit in my purse.
I told Clyde I should write a Teeth Brushing Blues song. He had some good ideas for lyrics.
I got the teeth brushing blues. I brush my teeth all day long. I am running out of floss, my fingers are tired, and my teeth and gums are now blue, too! Oh my!

I have been watching a great documentary that is proof of the old saying that truth is stranger than fiction. The Wolf Pack is about a family with seven kids in lower East side New York that were not permitted friends or access to the outside world. They were home schooled by their mother and their father was the only one that left the apartment for necessities. The children were only let out on highly supervised visits to the doctor or the dentist. One year they did not leave the apartment at all. The kids watched movies and after a while decided to act the movies out with costumes that they made. Great documentary! I highly recommend it.

If you don’t like to swim laps because it is boring, swim the breast stroke with a friend! It is amazing how fast those laps are done when you are yakking away the time! I did that yesterday and it was great!

Last Wednesday I was watching TV in the living room when I saw a rather large object coming down the hall way. It was too big to be an insect so I knew it had to be a mouse. When I approached it, it ran into a closet. I told Clyde and he said once you have a mouse in the house, you usually have more. They are hard to get rid of.
This is our third mouse. Clyde got out the mouse traps and had forgotten how to set them. I am always griping about computers but they certainly can be a big help. He looked up the brand and there was a video on how to set them. He went into the the kitchen and yelled to me that if I heard a scream, then he did it wrong.
No scream! Yes! I hope we catch the little stinker. May all your homes be mouse free!
The mouse trap cartoon is from an ad for pest removal. I doubt that they will mind that I used it here since I am including the link to their business.

I must be building up some endurance. An hour and fifteen minutes of Yoga and an hour and a half of Line Dancing yesterday and I am not pooped today! Yes, you can teach old bodies new tricks!

The other night Clyde stepped on a small rock in our bed room. I quipped that I didn’t think we had rocks in the house but there may be some in my head. He replied that one must have fallen out.
Wrong reply! Of course, he should have said you don’t have rocks in your head, dear! Oh well. I walked right into that one. Open mouth, insert foot!

I found the yoga pose I really need to help my back! Today we had our legs up on the wall and I was the only one that was feeling some pain when we did that. I will definitely add that one to my daily yoga exercises. Sometimes in the evenings the sides of my back right above my waist hurt. I’ll bet this pose will help!

I am looking forward to getting into the studio to work on another Skyline Beauty painting and another Kendall Expressions painting. One of these days I will take a break and get back to my oil paintings. I am really in the acrylic groove right now so I will continue with them a little longer and then it is back to what I love the most – sensuous oil paintings of this beautiful area of Virginia! Years ago Clyde made a comment as we all went to vote that I like very much. He said we need to hold our noses and vote. I wish that were not true, but it usually is. I am glad that in this presidential election there is one candidate that I hope will get to be on the ticket but I doubt that will happen.
Anyway, I was surprised to see the same phrase in The Roanoke Times online news today. The gist of the article is that Obama is receiving a rise in popularity due to a lot of different positive factors. The writer then goes on to say that “as many in the United States hold their noses as we search for the next president, they’re increasingly warming to the one they already have…”
So Clyde isn’t the only one that uses that phrase to prepare to vote! Love it!

I am very happy with the final stage of Richmond Ripples! I love to play off very small brushwork with large marks and this painting is a great expression of that creative joy!

That female cardinal is either going to get rid of the hussy in the window or die trying. The first thing I do in the morning is practice my piano music for a half and hour. I don’t have time to practice more. I wish I did.
Since the cardinal is now trying to scare her image away that obviously moved to the living room window after Clyde papered the computer room window, she is adding a beat that I don’t want. I have always found timing to be a little difficult and would prefer a conductor but this is ridiculous. She is not keeping time at all!
I have a metronome but I am not a robot so that doesn’t help either. I change the tempo to suit my expression. I don’t want the cardinal to pummel itself to death, but I wish it would give up.
Oh well, The Bird Man wanted me to announce a rather rare siting today – A Forsters Tern was spotted in Radford, VA this morning.
