I get a ridiculous number of scams practically every day. I am always a little worried when I see that I have messages on Messenger. I should be glad to see that I have messages but I get a lot of scams so I am very wary about what is there.
Today I received an email thanking me for ordering something that I didn’t order. The thank you made my mind reel with sarcastic replies.
It is tempting to answer the email with,
Thank you for sending me another scam! I have only received five today and three of them shut down my computer. I don’t know what happened to the other two!
A few weeks ago one of them blew up the computer and it fell through the floor after one click on a link which is why we have a new computer! We can’t wait to see what happens next!

The Word Man and I are looking forward to the book launch of Fiddling at Midnight’s Farmhouse on June 16th at Christ Lutheran! His launch is one of a series of literature readings that are hosted by Christ Lutheran.
Clyde came up with the name Rough Draft Coffee House. We celebrate creativity in a coffee house atmosphere.
The name that Clyde came up with goes great with a writers joke I saw on the internet this morning. Why are writers always cold? They are surrounded by rough drafts! Love it!

I am still griping about Towhees in Wildwood Park. To think, I named my studio after that beautiful, but irritating bird. I really get tired of hearing, “Drink your tea”, over and over again on our walks.
I asked Clyde if it had another song. He said it didn’t have one. It was a one-hit wonder long ago and is trying desperately to make a come back. I guess I just have to learn to love it.
I found a joke that applies to this bird.
Why did the bird go to the hospital? To get tweetment.
Maybe if a Towhee got tweetment it could come up with another song. LOL!

I finally have a convert! People have been asking me how I have kept my weight down my whole adult life. First they ask if I am just naturally slim which is not at all true. I had to fight weight gain as a child and teenager. I went to the library and read a book on nutrition and figured out where I was going wrong.
Now I know I must eat a balanced diet and COUNT CALORIES. No one has believed me until now. Clyde is losing about a pound a week and is not HUNGRY or MISERABLE! I am so proud of him. I’m sure the weight loss will help his knee problem.
The other day I told him he was really losing it. I let out a big laugh when I saw his face and, of course, said I mean weight, not mind!
I saw a cute weight joke on the internet. A woman is weighing herself in a towel. Her response is, “This towel must be very heavy.”

I am so pleased to be back to oil paint and I think the second stage of Blue Ridge Mist turned out well! I will probably not change much in the last stage, but there are a few things I would like to tweak!

As I have mentioned before, I like to watch Judge Judy. There have been times that I wanted to lay some people out that were doing me wrong but if I did let them have it, my circumstances would probably have been worse so I kept quiet. I love to watch her lay people out that are wronging someone.
You do have to wonder about the intelligence level of a lot of the people that are on the show. Clyde thinks the show scouts people that are not too bright so the show will be entertaining. He has a theory. He thinks they are given the following questionnaire.
1. Are you stupid?
2. Are you very stupid?
3. Would you complain to the police that the cocaine you bought is no good?
If you answered yes to no. 1 you are on the waiting list. If you answered yes to number two you are on the short list. If you answered yes to number three then we will pick you up within the hour. You are on the next show.

Haven’t heard a funny from The Word Man lately, he is too busy trying to get to the remote fast enough to click off people running for office and ranting his usual rant about politics. Since he is also The Bird Man, I like to ask him about birds when we go walking.
I am not up on migration patterns and oftentimes I see a bird I don’t think I know and then find out from him that it is one I do know. They sure look different from different angles and in different light.
I did see a cute bird joke about migration on the internet. The picture is of two birds covered in snow on a tree branch. One of them says to the other, “I told you we should have migrated.”

Glad to back to oils and I am very happy with the first stage of my latest Blue Ridge painting! I love oil paint the best, but I get more uptight when I paint in this medium. A lot of painters consider watercolors to be the most difficult painting medium. I can’t agree. I consider oils to be the most difficult, but I love it!

When Clyde and I take walks at Wildwood Park the towhees are always yelling “drink your tea” over and over again. It is a pretty bird call but it can get monotonous. The other day I read in a blog that drinking tea actually fights the bacteria in our mouths which, of course, helps with tooth decay.
When I told Clyde that, he had a whacko theory as to why towhees keep on telling us to drink our tea. Maybe they once had teeth and are now telling everybody to drink their tea or else! Now that’s a weird one, even for The Bird Man!

Rain, rain go away! We are having a monsoon right now in Radford. My Line Dance troupe had to cancel a performance last night. I was looking forward to that one since it is at the old train station in Pulaski and there are vendors that I usually buy from while we are waiting to perform. Oh well. I think most of the vendors cancelled too. We need the rain but we don’t need a weekly deluge. Hope to see the sun soon!
I have decided to take my head out of the sand and interact more with other artists so here is a link to an interesting article on an artist that is really into brushwork like I am! Check out the great artwork of Winston Torr!
Sometimes it really is the little things that are super irritating. I am trying to compose a piano piece just for fun. I have been playing the piano since I was twelve and it never occurred to me to write music but I thought I would give it a try. I can’t believe how slow it is going. I have always been good at reading music but now that I am trying to write it I can’t remember all the different symbols for the notes in the bass which is crazy, since I read them every day without any problem.
Also, my pencil keeps breaking and our electric sharpener is jammed and the little plastic one just keeps breaking the pencil. One of these days I will finish my amateur attempt at composing and get it copyrighted. I’m sure someone will want to steal it. I would put LOL but Clyde thinks it is a nice piece of music so you never know. He has spent quite a bit of time studying music and has written a few pieces that I like.
I saw a cute pencil joke the other day. Knock knock, Who’s there? A pencil. A pencil who? Never mind. It’s pointless.
