When the rain started a few days ago I wrote about how I was enjoying the rain after such a long dry spell.  Well, today no one in the New River Valley is enjoying the rain!  Lots of flooding.  So much flooding that Montgomery County schools closed early.

Okay.  Enough!  We need to dry off now.

It was cloudy. 20% chance of rain.  That didn’t seem like much of a chance.  I went down to the park to walk and it was quite cloudy.  I had two umbrellas in my car.  Did I take one with me?  No!  I walked a mile without rain and then walked back in a deluge.  I was completely soaked.  So much water that it made my eyes red.

I repeat. I had two umbrellas in my car.  Why didn’t I take one with me?  If I had I’ll bet the rain would have held off until my walk was done.  Next time I will take an umbrella and walk back in the sunshine.

Last night was a deluge!  My Line Dancing Troupe had to dance on a small space under an awning while a few brave people sat under umbrellas over tables in the courtyard of The Historic Train Station in Pulaski, VA.  I almost tripped over a CD Player on the first dance.

The good news was that on the way home the motorists on RT. 11 actually drove slowly!  I always drive slow in heavy rain but I am usually in danger of being run over by the other cars.

If you want to have a great time staying in shape, join us Tuesday nights at The Memorial Baptist Church in Pulaski at 6:00.  You won’t regret it!

I Hope the Storm shows up! We need the Rain!

We keep getting weather reports of rain that fizzle out.  I see the rain clouds build up and then just move on.  Hope today is different!  We really need some rain.  I can swim indoors.
