Thursday is run around day but there has to be more to my life than my painting so Yoga this morning and Line Dancing Class this afternoon! Good to get away but it is hard to get  all the computer work done. 

The latest layer of my commission is drying so I can get back to it tomorrow. 

Still a few things to do before Christmas and I will be bringing the dinner down to my Mother-in-law’s house.  I brought too much for Thanksgiving but I would rather have too much than not enough. 

We have no problem with leftovers!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Sometimes I tell Clyde about the funny thing he said that I put into my blog.  He usually reads it later.  I told him what he said about the Frosty the Snow man statue in Radford- that he may be smiling, but when no one is looking he ducks behind a bush for a cigarette. 

Of course, he had something else to add. 

He isn’t just frowning about needing a cigarette.  He is worried about climate change and is looking to buy an iceberg before they are gone.

Yikes!  Maybe we should pay Frosty to stand there. LOL!

I am looking forward to getting back to some wild flower paintings after I finish my latest commission.  It is coming along but the drying time for each layer has been longer than usual.  I hope I can get back to it soon.  I need to get out some acrylics for some abstracts but I just can’t seem to get it together this time of year.  I am still trying to out run Santa.  Not much time left and I keep finding something I need to do. 

Gee, I wonder if I am the only one complaining about Holiday stress?  As Snoopy once said, “My mind reels with sarcastic replies.”

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

In our little city there is a smiling Frosty the Snowman across from the bridge that people enter Radford from Fairlawn.  It is looks real good there.  When I pointed it out to Clyde the other day and remarked on how happy it looked he, of course, had a goofy comment. 

Sure, it is smiling now, but when no one is looking it ducks behind a bush and smokes a cigarette.

Frosty wouldn’t do that. 

How do you know?  No one is paying him to stand there and smile.  I’ll be he frowns big time behind the bush. 

Another wacko comment from my curmudgeon. 

Frosty may not smoke a cigarette behind a bush but I’ll bet he would throw a snowball at Clyde if he got the chance.

Looking forward to a wedding today! A neice on Clyde’s side will be taking that big step this afternoon.  The church is an hour away so we said we would come if the roads are clear.  Well, the back roads are not clear so we are going to take the interstate.  We both hate the interstate but that is our only option.  I have only been to one other winter wedding and it was beautiful!  Time to get ready!  All my artwork will just have to wait until way later today.  Signing off from the internet.

Clyde and I have a lot of forms to fill out that are really irritating.  We take turns getting them in.  Clyde has one right now that may require him to check with an official that works with this sort of thing. Unfortunately, this clerical worker has to travel a lot and is hard to reach.

I mentioned that he would probably have to get help from that official and he said trying to get in touch with her is like trying to find a pink elephant  when you aren’t drunk. 

Don’t see any pink elephants out there and since we are tea totalers I don’t expect to find one.
