I love to look at snow but I hate being socked in when the roads are covered. Our roads have been cleared so I will be running around to stores and the library before the really big storm dumps a blanket on us.
Heavy snow storm is predicted for tomorrow starting this evening. I hope it fizzles. I still haven’t gotten to the store for boots. Maybe I can get that done today.
Winter cheers!

I have Line Dance and Yoga on the same day for a while and I really am tired at the end of the day. I am always tired but last night I was extra pooped!
Anyway, lots to do today and I keep running into road blocks that I put in my Life with The Word and Bird Man section. I will keep moving and stop tripping, I hope!
I don’t care how cold it is right now, I wish I were at the scene below! Love the beach!

When my son was little I read a lot of Sesame Street books to him. One of our favorites was Grover’s Bad Awful Day. It is a great book to read to kids so they can get through tough times. Well, I certainly thought about that book this morning.
You know you are having a bad day when the pajamas you threw on to the dresser falls in the trash can.
You know you are having a bad day when your water filter just sits there and does not fill up the pitcher.
You know you are having a bad day when you click on something and get a phony virus infection notice that you can’t get off without turning the computer off.
Lastly, you know you are having a bad day when you call your husband to ask about a computer problem and the computer gives you a dirty look and just spins and spins and spins.
I am going to go get groceries so I can say I got something done this morning and then come back to all my computer work.
I was so pleased the Aquatic Center was open today! I had to use the competition pool which is always colder than the leisure pool. Oh well, once you get in and manage not to scream it isn’t so bad. I like to swim once a week but can’t always get to a pool. The chlorine is a problem this time of year but I slather lotion on and hope for the best! Yoga and Line Dance tomorrow! Got to keep moving!

Such a beautiful day! I need to wash some windows before it gets too cold. Yeah, like that is going to happen. I have a great idea for a new painting so that is where I am going after I get part of this done. Will do the rest later. Cheers!

Usually when I talk to Clyde he comes up with some quip that cracks me up. This time I came up with something that made him laugh which is no easy thing to do. He is a tough audience while I tend to laugh so hard the neighbors from down the street complain.
Anyway, he and I both tend to have a negative view of progress in technology. We are always worried about the consequences of certain advancements. Now it is the drones we are concerned about.
I mentioned to him the negative view we seem to have about technology and he said it isn’t the technology he is worried about. I replied that maybe it was the stupidology that oftentimes follows the technological advancements.
Made him laugh! Yes!!!

There is hope for this extremely computer challenged lady. I just have to remember that computers do not always do what you tell them to. I was complaining how I followed the instructions on how to add a twitter list and nothing happened.
Well last night I did exactly what I did the other time and this time it worked! A computer is a machine that thinks and sometimes it thinks it isn’t going to help me. I guess it gets over the tantrum and decides to let me get something done.
It is a little like taming a difficult dog. Nice doggy, nice doggy! Come , sit and I will give you a treat. Nice computer, nice computer. Do what I ask you to do and you won’t be thrown out the window.

As always Clyde plays with words. He has a new one that is rather strange. According to the Word Man the true meaning of claustrophobia is fear of Santa Claus. Now that is different. When I asked him why this definition since people love Santa Claus. No one is afraid of him. He said just go to a mall at Christmas time and observe the crying toddlers dumped into a strange man’s lap all covered in white and red.
For a change of pace I have decided to apply my expressive style to some popular symbols which I think will add additional meaning to them. I am starting with the popular Ying Yang symbol and here is the one for today! I have already gotten many hits on it.

It is hard to know what to say after hearing of another shooting so close to home. Two killed and one injured at beautiful Smith Mountain Lake. Can we go anywhere without worrying about being shot? The murderer turned the gun on himself and is critical condition. It is a beautiful day in Southwest Virginia. What else can I do but concentrate on my work and enjoy the weather. I am so sorry for the victims and their families.

I try so hard to work on computer stuff that will help me out of all the extra work that I would rather not do, but, as usual the computer is fighting me. I followed the directions to the letter to add a list on Twitter so I can add people to the list and cut down on all this retweeting. The list is not there after three attempts. My computer is up to date. I just added the latest update and still the computer hates me. Aarghhhh!!!!!!

Almost done with this portrait. Still some work to do on the hands and the colors. Real pleased with it so far!
Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler
Clyde and I work hard at our art. I paint every day and he writes every day. I intend to keep on as long as possible. I hope I will die with a paint brush in my hand.
The other day I saw a wonderful quote. A famous opera singer in his nineties was asked why he was still singing. He said because he was making progress! Yes!!!!!
I love pecan pie but my son doesn’t like it and Clyde can’t eat wheat flour so I never buy one. Today I found a very small pecan pie in the bakery section and snapped it up! It is only five inches in diameter. I can handle a small one by myself! Looking forward to a slice tonight!

I live to paint but I am glad that the little things in life make me so happy! Going out to dinner with my husband and son is no big deal but I enjoy it so much! The butterflies in our yard get my undivided attention and the amazing array of colors I see every day are a constant source of excitement. Artists never really grow up! I am so glad I am still a kid in so many ways! Time for a beautiful walk!
