Still staring at the rain.  I will be glad when the sunny weather comes back.  I am having a hard time getting any artwork done right now due to various family matters.  But I did photograph my latest Center of My Mind painting in the first stage which may be the last stage.  We’ll see. 

Anyway, it is pouring outside and I hope it lets up when I go to Line Dance Class.  I do Yoga twice a week and love it when the little clock the teacher uses is visible.  Can’t wait to namaste right on out of there.  It does great things for the body but I don’t like it. 

I wonder if there are people that do Yoga and actually like it.  One of the students in the class likes to say we should start with a Yoga nap. We never do.  I guess that is his nirvana that will never be realized in class.

Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day.  It rained yesterday and it is supposed to rain for the next few days and stop on Thursday.  Glad I got to the lake once.  It is always tricky to swim in the lake due to rainy days this time of year.  We need the rain but it would be nice if it just rained at night.  Oh well.  I will return before the end of the season. 

I can see why people want to live by the ocean but the weather at most beaches does not just include rain, it is scary, home wrecking stuff.  Glad there is a beautiful lake fifteen minutes from my house.  Yea New River Valley!  Love it!

Yesterday we were on our way to the library.  It is a great library but the parking lot is a tricky one.  I am always looking over my shoulder when I park or leave it. 

Anyway, as we were approaching the parking lot Clyde pointed out the Slow Cross walk sign. 

Watch out. That cross walk moves very slowly.  You don’t want to hit it.   

And it is named Bump.  Don’t let it bump you. 

We made it.  No injuries.

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Nothing funny today.  Clyde is still having a lot of hip pain and I am discouraged about a number of things right now.  Maybe I can find something funny elsewhere before I get to a lot of work.

Found something funny regarding the medical profession which is appropriate since we are both trying to figure out what is the best approach for a hip remedy.  Doctor, physical therapy, massage therapy, yoga in a chair, etc.

Picture a guy in a dentist chair about to be worked on.  He asks the dentist if that is a Dentistry for Dummies on his shelf.

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Over the years I have thought about that old saying that opposites attract and wondered how Clyde and I got together.  We are so much alike.  I finally realized that we are different in one way.  I am painfully shy and have to put on an act when I am around others so I can talk.  He is not the least bit shy.

I won’t go into all the ways that we are alike except one.  Even though I can organize stuff and he couldn’t organize a pair of shoe laces, we are complete slobs in the way we dress and handle food.

Life with The Bird and Word Man – Clyde Kessler

That female cardinal is either going to get rid of the hussy in the window or die trying.  The first thing I do in the morning is practice my piano music for a half and hour.  I don’t have time to practice more.  I wish I did.

Since the cardinal is now trying to scare her image away that obviously moved to the living room window after Clyde papered the computer room window, she is adding a beat that I don’t want.  I have always found timing to be a little difficult and would prefer a conductor but this is ridiculous.  She is not keeping time at all! 

I have a metronome but I am not a robot so that doesn’t help either. I change the tempo to suit my expression.  I don’t want the cardinal to pummel itself to death, but I wish it would give up.

Oh well, The Bird Man wanted me to announce a rather rare siting today – A Forsters Tern was spotted in Radford, VA this morning.

Life with The Bird and Word Man – Clyde Kessler

The female cardinal that was driving me crazy banging into the window so she could scare off her reflection has found the hussy once again!  I guess she didn’t believe that woman had left so she checked out the other windows and starting crashing into her again.  Well, at least she picked a window in the living room so the noise isn’t nearly as bad.

The Bird Man really doesn’t want to paper all the windows and I agree with him.  I told him that now that the cardinal is not plowing into the window next to me, the wireless mouse is staying connected.  When she was hitting the window in this room the mouse disconnected over and over again.

The Bird Man decided that the cardinal was really in love with the mouse and now that she can’t see it she is searching other windows to find that hussy that stole the love of her life.  The mouse was disconnecting in an attempt to hide.

Now that is one ridiculous story – even for The Word Man!

Well, if Kermit the Frog can marry Miss Piggy and have frog and pig children in The Muppets Christmas Carol, who knows what can happen between a cardinal and a wireless mouse.

Time to get off this computer.

I haven’t had the chance to paint today but I am getting a lot of things done, even washed my hair!  I hate washing my hair.  It takes so long to comb out the tangles.  One of these days I will cut it short but I really like long hair so I will put up with it a while longer.  Cheers on this beautiful day!

Life with The Bird and Word Man – Clyde Kessler

The other day The Bird Man came to my rescue.  Between my wireless mouse that kept losing signal and the female cardinal bashing itself on the window I was ready to throw things.  Actually, I did.  I went into the kitchen and threw a few plastic pieces around the room.

The Bird Man figured out a way to keep me from hurling the mouse through the window to clip the cardinal.  He covered the window with paper.  Now the cardinal can’t see the hussy that was encroaching on her territory.  Now I know where the phrase bird brain comes from.  Just kidding.  They are probably smarter than me.  My nest would probably fall to the ground.

Funny thing.  Now that the bird is not clobbering the window, the mouse is staying connected.  Were the two irritating events somehow related?
