Happy Easter to those that celebrate it! My hairdresser was selling easter eggs to benefit a church so I bought one.  It was a maple one and fantastic!  I am eating a little each day.  Haven’t had an Easter egg since I was a kid getting my own basket.  Great memories of those days.  Loved the Easter egg hunts.  I’ll never forget one that my Dad gave when I was very young.  I don’t remember who it was but a real nice boy was worried I wouldn’t find any so he pointed out some to me.  What a nice guy!  Anyway, for Christians this is a great day of celebration!

One of the biggest problems I have with showing my artwork online is getting the file right.  I can get it right on my computer but all computers are set differently so the colors and contrast will be different on just about every monitor.  No complaints from patrons that have bought originals or prints but I am a worry wort and am so relieved when I get the compliment from the buyer! What is really exasperating is how they look different on different sites.  I do the best I can and I order cards to check out the accuracy of prints.  So far, so good!

I am working on another beautiful, expressive nude and should have a first stage file up tomorrow!  Love to work with the figure in paint!

Well, I managed to send out my first Wix newsletter without too much screaming at the computer.  You would think this sort of thing would be easy, but I am definitely computer challenged.  I didn’t quite get it the way I wanted it to be but it was sent out and received.  I don’t know how to see who opened it yet but I will stumble around until I find that info.  I did have some bounced emails so I will have to clean up my list.  I sometimes wonder if the bounce is correct.  I have had some bounce on one newsletter and then open in the next.  Maybe their email box was too full.  Oh well, I will remove the bounced ones or Wix will get mad at me.

A while back my sister was asking about our Subaru Forrester.  If it were up to me we would get a cheap car but Clyde is better at purchasing things than I am.  I look at the price tag, he looks at the car so we got a good one. 

She was considering buying one but she thought she would like something a little bigger so she bought a Subaru Outback. 

Clyde said that is so she can keep it out back and take up the whole field.  She has a few acres.  We don’t.

Her name is Sue so her husband calls the new car Sue’sbaru.

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

As I have mentioned before I love movies! I get a lot of great ones from our library and netflix.  I can hardly stand to watch TV with all the commercials.  It usually takes me several days to watch one due to the fact that I have so much to do and am a workaholic.  Hard for me to sit still for the whole movie. 

Anyway, I highly recommend Permanent which is a very funny comedy about a young girl that ends up starting the school year with an awful permanent she can do nothing about. 

There is a lot more to the movie and one line will live with me forever!  I told it to Clyde and he agreed!  A lady in therapy gives her definition of family. 

A family is like a plant.  You water it and hope you didn’t get a weed.  Love it!

I wanted to get back to my latest shore painting but I got sidetracked so I am going to get in there and at least clean off my palette so I can work tomorrow.  The trick is how to paint, get all my computer work done, and still get to the lake to swim before the afternoon showers.  I hope the rain will hold off so I can swim one more time before the lifeguards quit for the summer. 

People are allowed to swim without them but I would rather have them there.  I have only used my float once this summer and I am looking forward to spinning around in it one more time.  I am a responsible adult but in many ways I never grew up and I highly recommend staying a kid and never losing the desire to have the same fun we had when we were little!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Yesterday I was adding some Skyline Beauty paintings to my new Independent website and updating them on my website connected to Fine Art America.  As I added them to my new site I also let the revised listings go to social media sites. 

A twitter friend saw one of my New York skyline paintings and thought it resembled Donald Trump’s signature.  That had never occurred to me so I looked up his signature and didn’t see the resemblance so I tweeted that I had not intended the painting to look like his signature and couldn’t see the resemblance myself. 

I didn’t think the friend that tweeted the comment meant any offense but she let me know she just thought the up and down motion of the brushwork looked like his signature.

Clyde said you should have asked the friend to buy it and then she could compare it up close with Trump’s signature.  What a shameless opportunist and I wish I had thought of that!  LOL!

Anyway, here is the painting and here is Trump’s signature.  What do you think?

Can’t think of much to say today except I finished the second stage of Pawleys Island Atmosphere and am looking forward to the last stage.  The first stage that is getting a lot of hits is in the video at the top of this post. I will post the second  stage on my website connected with Fine Art America soon. 

I am working hard to finish my independent website with Wix but it will take a long time.  There is a lot to see already but a lot more needs to be added and then I need to learn how to promote it effectively. 

I have also decided, for now, to just send out my newsletter from Fine Art America.  I started one with another site because I thought the number of paintings that could be added on the Fine Art America one was too few.  Either they have changed their format or I was not working it correctly.  There is plenty of room so I will not use the other one that aggravates me no end.  The computer really likes to burp and default big time with that site and I have had enough!

You know you have been living with a Bird Watcher or Birder, as they say, for a very long time when you go looking for him when you see unusual birds on the internet.  Lots of times people want an identification of an unusual species or an explanation of  certain types of behavior so I ask The Bird Man and he groans he should be paid for his expertise but he always helps out. 

Sometimes I wonder about all these Nature programs.  Are there any other inhabitants of this planet that are carefully studying us, making reports, and trying to figure out our behaviors?  I don’t think so but I do love the below cartoon. 

Crows are very smart and have learned to adapt to the changes we have made in the environment so I am just waiting for one of them to fly off with Clyde’s binoculars and start checking us out.  Wonder what they would say about all the paintings I make.

Clyde said they have probably learned to read and they want him to hit the delete button on all those poems he writes.  That would explain all the bird noise right outside the window.
