I am so pleased with my latest shore painting! It took a turn that I didn’t think was going to work out so I thought I had a lot more time to work on it but now I think it just needs some tweaking. The atmosphere is just what I wanted and I hope to add it to my portfolio on my website real soon! Here is the first stage again! Lots and lots of hits and compliments on it!

This rodent is really acting up! The battery was just changed so I know that is not the problem. The selection holds when it feels like it. Sometimes when I select words the mouse mixes up the letters.
Then the real fun one is when I select something and am flipped to a different page on the computer!
Yikes! I complained to Clyde and he said maybe it is time to tie a string on it, drop it out the window and let some cats play with it.
Sounds good to me.
If you like my work but don’t have any more room on your walls be sure to check out my paintings on just about anything but the kitchen sink on
Lot of ideas on what to do next! I still have more ideas for Blue Ridge Parkway paintings, my favorite work, but it is time to take a break. I still want to do at least one more oil painting before I have to order more white.
I am considering an egret. I didn’t marry the Bird Man for nothing! He has taught me a lot about birds which is why I know what an egret is. Anyway, I did get the studio cleaned up – well a little cleaned up – okay, I still need a bulldozer but I can walk in almost every part of it now! It is my messy home away from home in my home. Time to get back in there.

I haven’t heard a crazy funny from Clyde lately so I called him up to goad him into something. There is a cute one going around about how a guy wants to stand outside so he can say he is outstanding.
Clyde’s response was, well don’t lock the door behind you with the key inside.
Not bad for a Monday. I don’t think I need to be outstanding. I probably would forget my key. Cheers! on a cloudy, cold day!

I am trying to take a break today and clean up my studio but I keep finding computer work to do. I will get in there and at least shove things around that way I can sort of pretend to get something done. The Studio is calling my name. Time to answer. Just got to force myself not to pick up a brush. Cheers!

I finished all three of my current Blue Ridge Parkway paintings and will upload them all. I am especially pleased with Porter Mountain in Fall. This painting has the most complicated system of brushwork I have ever used in a painting. This is a hard concept to explain but since I also play the piano I often try to explain art with music. If you like music with a lot of notes and chords then this painting is for you!

I always try to look for humor and there certainly is a lot of it on the internet and Clyde cracks me up almost every day. I have several funnies from him that I will post but today I have one from Google + that we both liked.
Someone posted a great looking dish with beans and eggs and the caption was for viewers to enjoy a great vegetarian meal. The only comment was, “Mmm! Where’s the beef?”
Here is another one. Becoming a vegetarian is a Big Missed Steak.
No offense to vegetarians. We all need to laugh at ourselves. There are zillions of artist jokes out there! I have spent my life listening to how artists are all crazy. Just because we are is no reason to point it out all the time! LOL!
I am real happy with my latest Blue Ridge Parkway paintings! Painting is always a crap shoot as I have mentioned before. We think we know what we are doing but it is always a mysterious process that incorporates what we are aiming for and what happens along the way.
My last three have been quite a ride and I am almost done. I will probably paint one more Parkway painting before getting back to some skylines and abstracts.
I am real pleased to sell another print of one of my most popular Yin Yang paintings to a great German patron! Glad they are appreciated!

I am staying out of the conversations about the result of the election but I am saddened by what is going on. People know right from wrong but many are using the election as an excuse to do wrong things.
I saw a comment on Linkedin that could apply to either candidate so I won’t get into trouble if I discuss it here. The member said one of the candidates left a rich lifestyle to help this country while the media has told nothing but lies about this candidate.
Clyde’s response was that any person that believed that must be living in a hole with a computer that does not have access to news sites.
I would have to agree. I have seen a lot of documentation in the media that looks and sounds pretty iron clad to me regarding the faults of both candidates.
Just saw a cute computer joke. Caution. This machine has no brain. Use your own.
I mentioned that to Clyde and he said well that makes two brainless things in the computer room. Is he talking about me or him or both?
Please click on my latest Youtube! I will have another one on my channel later today!
Today is Gripe and Work Day for me but I am not a veteran so I will shut up and think of their great sacrifices. We owe our lives and our freedoms to these brave people and they should be honored every day.
I am getting a lot of attention on one of my current Blue Ridge paintings, Pink Clouds! I am uploading the different stages on my site so patrons can order prints. The original will be available soon!

I see a lot of comments on the internet that are gripes about Math. I don’t agree. We would be in sad shape if engineers didn’t know their algebra and the convenient devices we use would not exist without complicated systems of Math.
Anyway, there are a lot of fun Math jokes on the internet. I called Clyde to tell him the one about how it is a shame parallel lines will never meet since they have so much in common.
His reply was break the speeding limit and you will know all about how parallel lines meet when the cop pulls you over.
In a few days I am going to take a break from blogging and just put up some of my Youtubes. My fingers are tied in knots with all the typing I do on various sites. I need to get out of this room and see the world, or at least the neighborhood beyond this one.
Lots of loud music on this street. I hate to shop, but in stores I don’t have to hear music that would make a lion run for cover.
Anyway, I and The Word Man will be back in a few days but you still get to see my promotions. Can’t let up.
My motto will always be Live to paint but I can’t take them with me.
I don’t have a lot to say today. I have been so busy and I still have a lot to do. I was literally stuck to this chair. It is wood and we prefer it without a pillow. I was sweating so much that I was quite stuck. I finally gave in and turned on the air conditioner. I always prefer an open window but this summer is quite a scorcher. I hope I can find time to paint tomorrow.

Monday I was working on some computer chores in the evening when I started to hear some thunder. It was very soft so I kept on until there was a loud crack and I said, okay, I hear you! Time to turn off this time sucker.
Clyde was watching TV. I joined him and mentioned I had turned off the Trojan Horse. The storm really got going and Clyde said he hoped the computer would be okay. I told him I turned it off and un-plugged it. Did he want me to put it under the bed?
He said yes, just like a little puppy.
I wonder if The Bird Man is starting to crack. He is outside right now studying the various populations around our house. Maybe I should take his binoculars away for a while. LOL!
So hot! I don’t want to put on the air conditioner yet since it is cloudy outside but if the temperature in here gets to the cooking my goose level, I will. I have pretty much finished my cover illustration for Fiddling at Midnight’s Farm House and now I need to touch up parts of it and get to work on the other individual poem ones. Got to start reading the manuscript.
This week’s Special Promotions end this evening. Check them out below!
We will be visiting my Mom and other members of my family soon so I decided to bake a loaf of zucchini bread using my Mom’s great recipe. She doesn’t like cake that much but she does like fancy breads and her recipe is quite complicated.
When I got to the part about separating two eggs I groaned. I have always found separating eggs to be difficult. It is so easy to break the yoke right into the white.
I yelled at Clyde and asked him if he could separate eggs. He said sure! He would take two out of the carton and put one in the living room and one in the garage. We don’t have a garage. Okay, car port.
