Love the weather right now. Not too cold or hot. Just right. We are in for a deluge this weekend so it is time to step away from the computer and get outside. Clyde and I walk very slowly until his knee is better. I hope I will get a good report when he gets home. The progress varies. Hope every one has a great weekend!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler
Clyde is still having trouble with his knee in spite of exercise and weights. It will be a long time before he is better but you have to give him an “A” for effort! His sense of humor is coming back and I am getting some goofy answers to my questions.
Yesterday I called him and opened with,
You know how we all change a lot as we age.
No, I am just an older monkey.
Well, I have changed a lot. When I was young I wasn’t that interested in History and now I am fascinated by it. I want to read all that whaling history in Moby Dick. Where is it?
Who knows?
Got it from the library and now those parts of the book don’t seem to take up as much of the book as I thought they did.
There is a great Moby Dick funny on the internet. Herman Melville is puzzled about a piece of paper that he is holding. I white whale is staring at him and saying it is a restraining order, idiot.

I was determined today to have a good Wednesday. I don’t know what it is about Wednesday’s, but things seem to just go wrong. I am pleased to report this evening that I had a good Wednesday and hope the evening is good, too.
Lots to do but the glasses strand with little tiny fake pearls did not burst all over the kitchen floor and no rants over technology, though the rants can happen any day of the week. I won’t get into all those other Wednesday irritations that usually occur. Beautiful day!
Cheers!

Clyde is using weights now to strengthen his knee. I was real pleased to find an adjustable set so he can take it slow. Still not getting much humor from him right now. I asked him if he had a funny for my blog and he said he was too pooped out, popped up, blowed up, and busted to come up with a joke.
Well, I guess that is a writer with a sore knee’s way of saying nothing right now. Saw a great surgery joke online. In the middle of an operation the doctor tells the nurse to go to Surgery.com and click on the Are you totally lost icon. The patient hasn’t been put under yet. YIKES!

Technology has me screaming at times. I needed to correct something and when I told the person on chat I did not know the number I needed to use correct the situation, he gave me a link to the same page where I needed that number to correct the situation.
Arggh! I explained that goof up to the next online chat agent and she rectified the situation but this was after I had gone through a bunch of other online circles that turned into dead ends. One technology problem can take up way too much time. Cheers on a Monday! I need some.

Clyde is able to walk more, but every once in a while his knee locks up and he lets out a yell. I will be so glad when he is better. He gets another shot today.
When we walk in the park I take my camera. I never know when I will see something for inspiration. The last time he asked me if I had my camera and I told him I wasn’t taking it.
He said we would be sure to see a Big Foot sighting or some paranormal activity that could actually be photographed.
After we had walked for a while I mentioned that we hadn’t seen anything that was weird. He said, oh no? Look to your right. I was on the left. Ha ha! Yes, you are weird but I have a lot of photographs of you. Don’t need anymore just yet. Keep walking.

It is great to see Clyde getting around without the walker! His knee still hurts but he is walking, mostly without assistance. He will see the doctor Monday and hopefully go back to work on Tuesday or Wednesday.
It is nice having him around but I am getting tired of being a caretaker. It really is hard to put a sock on someone. I am getting the hang of it. Oh well. It is a beautiful day and maybe I can get into the studio for a while.
Cheers!

Clyde is doing better each day but this confinement is getting on my nerves and I can’t find time to paint so I just wish I could be on one of these rides right now with the beach to stage left!
Too much to do all the time. Not looking forward to shopping for a car. Clyde has pretty much decided which one we should get so we just need to narrow down the details. I always let him decide on big purchases. I will always go for a low price tag. He buys quality items. I buy things that will break. Glad one of us has some buying sense.

Clyde is doing a little better with his hip problem and the funnies are starting to fly again. I read about a joint remedy that involves drinking plain gelatin the first thing in the morning. It is prepared the night before and left out to swell. I’m sure plain gelatin tastes awful.
I told him I would put a cover over it so the rats don’t get in. He said I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t any taste to it. Ha ha. We don’t really have rats. This morning I asked him how it tasted.
The guys are out of the house for a while so it is very quiet and I am determined to get my computer work done so I can paint. I spent thirty minutes with internet service people trying to get messenger back on Facebook. I did it this time without any cussing or a desire to throw the computer out the window!
You really can teach old dogs new tricks but I still don’t want to learn how to create digital paintings. Not for me. Love my oil paint!

Well, I am starting off the New Year with our very old computer. My printer has a mind of its own. I printed out a photograph with no problem and then when I tried to print out a very short text document it just printed out a blank piece of paper.
Clyde said if it could talk, it would say that’s all for 2017. Happy New Year!
So pleased to sell a print of Heart Twirl to a great Minnesota patron! If I had to pick a favorite out of my heart paintings it would be this one. The brushwork and vibrant color make it a terrific visual experience! Be sure to check out more in my Whimsy and Suggestions galleries on my website!

Clyde is still working away on Mount Clydemore which is becoming MountClydeless. It sways to the right and then the left but things from the summit are being taken down and either eliminated or reassigned.
A lot of his naturalist records are being recorded on Cornell and other sites where he hopes the information will be of use.
This room looks like something you would see at a recycling station when it is full and people just leave their stuff so they don’t have to take it home again.
It used to bother me but considering all the important information that is all over the place, it doesn’t bother me now.
We had a great time visiting relatives and now I am again parked in front of this Trojan Horse. Spammers to the right of me, spammers to the left of me. I am just trying to reach nice people and especially nice people that like Art!
My sister has a daughter-in-law that plays the violin and the piano. I had a great time talking to her! I played some Satie for her and she played a theme song from a popular movie.
My mother was a fantastic pianist but can’t play any more. I am so sorry she never recorded her music. I really do live to paint but I play my piano every day. Love all the arts!
Clyde has noticed a little weight gain in spite of his restrictive diet. We certainly have found a lot of subsitutes but he isn’t as thin as when he started his Fructose Malabsorption diet.
He can eat ice cream if it doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup in it. I buy organic chocolate chip for him and he has it almost every night in spite of the jello I usually have in the fridge.
I mentioned to him the other day that I am going to start making more pudding. The ice cream he eats has 200 calories per tablespoon. No wait, 200 calories per teaspoon!
He didn’t buy it. He doesn’t count calories like I do but he has some knowledge of what is in what. Oh well. The pudding does have a lot less calories so I will get in there and make some. When there is pudding, he picks that over ice cream.
In a few days I am going to take a break from blogging and just put up some of my Youtubes. My fingers are tied in knots with all the typing I do on various sites. I need to get out of this room and see the world, or at least the neighborhood beyond this one.
Lots of loud music on this street. I hate to shop, but in stores I don’t have to hear music that would make a lion run for cover.
Anyway, I and The Word Man will be back in a few days but you still get to see my promotions. Can’t let up.
My motto will always be Live to paint but I can’t take them with me.
Please click on my latest Youtube! I will have a new one up soon!
I am very pleased to sell a print of Heart Rainbow to a great California patron! This is one of my favorite heart paintings and is only available for prints. Be sure to check out this great gallery called Whimsy on my website! Here is the link.
I have been racking what is left of my brain and thinking of things Clyde has said lately and not a funnie in sight! Nothing good on Facebook either. I guess I will just have to declare June 17th 2016 No Funnies Day. Maybe I should give Clyde a call and see if I can goad him into a good quip. On no! He must really be busy. Can’t get an answer.
Oh well! Maybe tomorrow. I can at least post some great Blue Ridge Discovery News. Cheers!
Tonight is the Blue Ridge Explorers Club Full Moon Hike.
