Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

When computers took over our lives Clyde made the comment that in some ways it is a Trojan Horse.  When you consider the children that have actually committed suicide because of internet bullying, he does have a valid point.

 

They are great in many ways and I doubt I would have artwork in 24 states, Canada, Russia, Germany, Australia, and England if it were not for internet marketing.

Still, Clyde is still not keen on computers, especially since he has to be on one eight hours a day at work.  The other night I remarked how much easier shopping is with a computer and he said he wouldn’t be happy until you can get a pizza shoved at you through the printer.

Now, that would be something!  A little cynical humor to start our days!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Clyde is from Franklin County which, as most people know, is the Moon shine Capital.  Ferrum, Virginia is a very nice place where his great great uncle George Kessler, along with two others, founded Ferrum College.  Still, the county does have a well-deserved reputation for boot legging.

Today when I was looking at other blogs with great photographs it occurred to him that a humorous photographic still could be a picture of two boot leggers running away from the Law that just found their still. 

That certainly gives photographic still a new meaning!  Had to laugh.

Thursday is now Youtube Day!

 

I have decided to get back into making Youtubes.  Since I am an amateur pianist I was using my own music but I don’t have time for that so I am adding selections on Youtube.  There are so many beautiful pieces to choose from and I am looking forward to showing more and more of my work in that format!  Here is one of my older ones that I think turned out very well!

Up Too Early and Where are my Glasses?

Woke up at 5 and just couldn’t get back to sleep so I did some things on the computer and forgot about my morning “hello” blog.  I am really groggy today and, as usual, I am searching for my glasses.  I know I should get a chain and put them around my neck but I am messy so I’m sure I would spill things on them and probably get oil paint on them, too!  Anyway, cheers!

Computer is Back in Action!

We sure are dependent on this box we sit in front of!   It let me down yesterday but all is fine today.  I didn’t even open the window and let gravity do the work!  That’s my husband’s solution to computer problems.  Well, it is what he would like to do.

Staunton Asylum Ghost Story

In my search for ghost stories I am surprised at how many of them are in Staunton, Virginia!  I guess there are a lot of creepy places there!

There is a haunted asylum there that is infamous for a doctor that use to cleanse his patients by torture! It was shut down many years ago but people claim they still hear screams and thumps in the building.  One father and son actually video taped their experience.

I don’t know what to think about the tape but it is a great ghost story!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

I work at home and I do mean work.  Now that I am selling my artwork full-time I get up and work hard at promoting my paintings online.  I am working harder since I retired from teaching at Radford University.  I knew that would happen.

My husband works at V.P.I. and S.U. in Government Documents.  Like any office, there are times when workers can take a break, especially if there is a party.

So today I got up and started to work right away and then decided to take a little break!  Time for me to stand around the water cooler for a little while or celebrate a pretend birthday!

My husband is always glad when I let up a little.  Two days ago a blood vessel in my right eye broke when I lifted my easel.  My doctor said that if you take aspirin and then lift things the strain can cause that to happen.  Next time I need to take something for soreness, I am taking Advil, which is what he suggested.
