Yesterday I had a lot to do as always but I wanted to try to catch up on my photography.  My artwork has to be photographed outside for prints to be available on my website.

 

It is very tricky work but I thought the light was okay so I got out there late in the afternoon.  Usually I only get a few good ones and have to re-take the others.  This time I got 100%!  Yea!!!!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

I have been having trouble sleeping lately due to some soreness in my legs.  I think there should be some sort of meter that tells you when to quit so that muscles don’t get mad at you.  I do work hard but I don’t think I do too much.

Anyway, my husband calls me at 7:3o to get me up so I can take our son to work.  He gets up at 4:30 to go to work so he can get a parking place that is not miles from the office.

This morning when I answered I let out a long groan.  His response was for me to translate.  I explained that I had been awake every hour since 3:30 and that is why I groaned.  He said go throw some rocks, or better yet, throw the computer out the window.

Now that is a great idea!

It seems the harder I work on promoting my artwork the less I get done.  There were two promo things I was going to do today and neither one of them is done.  Oh well, I never quit so I will be at it again tomorrow.  I am enjoying my new series and am especially pleased with my latest one that I added to Suggestions on my portfolio.  Please check out this vibrant series that I am creating out of what I see in the paint as I combine colors and react to their contrast and texture!

The other day I asked my husband to call a government agency on behalf of our son.  I was very busy and decided to delegate a little.  He was at work and thought he could try to straighten something out on a break.

He got an actual human on the phone after only a few minutes wait and then was told the problem could be easily fixed but he was not authorized to communicate with the agency.  I forgot that I was listed as the contact person.  My husband was informed that it was another member of the family but they couldn’t tell him the name.

 

I think after all these years my husband knows my name!  LOL

Stretch it Out!

I am taking my stretching exercises seriously now with great results!  

I can’t believe that a year ago I couldn’t touch my toes.  I have always been careful to exercise every day but I didn’t stretch my muscles.  What a difference!

I am having a great time researching myths and legends of mountain sites that are near the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway!   Here is another Native America legend about the Devil!

The Devil’s Tramping Ground

The Devil’s Tramping Ground is located in Western Chatham county near Siler City.  It is forty feet long. The path forms a ring and is a foot wide. The center of the circle and the area around it is covered with grass and plants but nothing grows in the path.

If objects are place in the path at night they are removed by morning.

It is believed to be the ground where the devil walks in a circle planning his devious tricks. His foot prints make the path.  He is gone by morning.  The devil’s foot prints are so hot the ground is scorched so nothing can grow there. It is believed animals avoid the path.

Worst 40th Birthday Card Ever

I just checked out a Good Neighbors DVD from the library.  I love it so far!  The opening scene has a man with a birthday cake with one candle.  He opens a card and reads it.   Mozart and Mendelssohn were dead by forty – Why aren’t you?
