Blue Ridge Parkway Artist
I have two sisters and they have let me make portraits of them which is something artists often do. Models are expensive and it is a great experience to paint family members. This first one is of Nan when she was ten with the only dog she had growing up. My mother decided I needed a dog and we got this adorable poodle that we all loved. We liked to let the hair grow out rather then trim it.
Beau was a very sweet dog and Nan was devoted to him.

I have been working hard on computer stuff most of the day and also got some housework done! Usually I have a lot to do after dinner but for once I am about caught up! I hope I don’t remember something that I had conveniently ignored.

I love indoor heated pools! I would always rather swim in the ocean or a lake but it is great to be able to swim year round! Swimming is the only sport that exercises every muscle in the body so I try real hard to make time for the pool!

Rehoboth Beach Rides is a colorful, exuberant painting of my son at the rides at Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. He loved the rides and especially liked this carousel with the motorcycle. I have many fond memories of this beach resort.
My family vacationed there when I was growing up and I spent a lot of time at this amusement park myself.
I miss the boardwalk, especially the miniature golf. We now vacation at beautiful South Carolina beach resorts. This painting has great color contrast and complicated textural surfaces.
