I always loved it when Barney on The Andy Griffith show would get mad at people telling him he was superstitious and he would angrily say he was cautious, just cautious.

Well, I don’t consider myself to be a hypochondriac but I think over the years I have sought medical help when I did not need to. Just like Barney, I am just being cautious.

For the last few weeks I have been waking up most days with a mild headache. Probably eye strain but I wonder if I should go see a doctor or go back to the eye doctor or forget about it. It always goes away fairly quickly.

Oh well. I will think about it.

I am still cleaning out the mess in our house and now that I am in the computer room with all Clyde’s books and documents the progress is very slow.  I pile the stuff up on the living room couch and he goes through it bit by bit when he gets a chance.  So much to go through!

 

Housework truly is an impossible task, especially when I have so much to do on the computer.  Sometimes I think I just need a bulldozer.  Of course a match would really finish the job but then I would have to take everything outside so we would still have a house to live in.  That is way too much work.  Back to the bulldozer idea!

Talked to my brother, the Computer Doc this morning and I have some advice for people that are computer challenged like me.

The reason my Instagram stopped working on my Android phone is because I hadn’t set up the wifi and the phone was using all my data for internet.  I thought I had set it up but I was wrong because when I put in the password I knew I had forgot to do it.  Our password is a real weird one and I had to search for it.

 

Anyway, I’ll bet most people didn’t need the above information but I thought I would include it anyway.  Cheers!

Life with The Bird and Word Man – Clyde Kessler

I have been trying to clean out the outrageous mess in our house little by little.  I am now working through the computer room shelves.

I am careful to check with Clyde about pamphlets and other documents and yesterday one of them was an instruction booklet for a pair of binoculars.  When he said I could throw that out, I asked if he was sure.

He said he definitely knew that if he put his binoculars in the oven they would blow up.

I had no idea why he said that so he said to read the booklet.  It was a bunch of instructions in Japanese and next to each instruction there was a large picture of a sun with a very upset look on it’s face.  Now I understand his comment!  LOL!

I am excited about the start of a new floral landscape that is based on a field near the Radford hospital!  The light is not good enough to continue work on my latest portrait but it is good enough for several layers on a new work.  I really ought to write a book and entitle it, “Looking for the Light”. 

My work is so complex that every shift in light makes such a difference in how it looks.  I hate to work on the last layer on a cloudy day.  My Daylight flourescent lights aren’t good enough to compensate for cloudy days. 

Well, time to prepare the canvas!

I like to watch court cases.  They are oftentimes hilarious.  The other day a woman was suing a land lord who was letting her board for one year for free due to some kind of situation between them. 

The judge was completely unsympathetic.  The woman resorted to claiming she had been through hell with this land lord.  Clyde’s quip was “Well, if she has been through hell, then the Devil doesn’t charge rent.”

We have had such a long dry spell that I am enjoying the sound of rain!  I have never disliked cloudy days.  I prefer sunny days but cloudy days are great, too!  I am always too busy to pay a lot of attention to the weather.  As long as a hurricane or tornado does not show up, I’m good.

I can’t believe I had to miss Line Dancing again!  I was on my way and the car did that awful transmission lurch so I turned around and thankfully made it home.  Either the fluid is low or it really is time to replace my old Ford. 

It has been a great car and I hope we can get a few more years out of it.  I hate shopping of any kind but it has to be done sometimes!  Hope we can get it fixed before the  Thursday class.

Clyde and I talk a lot about computers and how they have taken over.  I do appreciate being able to sell my artwork on this so called time saving device but it certainly has its draw backs. 

A lot of really wild things get passed around on Facebook.  Oftentimes serious posts aren’t true.  I sure have seen a lot of death notices that were false. As one of the characters on The Big Bang Theory said to another cast member, “Grow up, there is no room for truth on the internet.”

As Clyde says, “Stupid is only a click away.”
