It is a great feeling to solve a problem. I have had a personal problem for about fifteen years that I didn’t think I could solve. It is really a tough problem and too personal to discuss in detail.
It has called for patience that I did not think I was capable of maintaining for any length of time and now I am able to summon this patience all day long. I have a few lapses but they are very few.
Just goes to show you that where there is a will there is a way. Have a great evening everyone!

I have worked with a lot of models over the years when I taught at Radford University. Some of them had no idea how to hold a pose and some of them were fantastic. They knew just what to do and I hardly had to tell them a thing.
Well, I love my current model! I had no idea my husband would be so easy to work with. He gets back into the pose the next day and gets it right on the money! That is usually quite a problem to get the sitter right back in the same pose since the work has already been started but he nailed it without any help!
This is great! I love working from a model!

Glad to get some rain! We have some tomato plants and they were sagging a little. Clyde can’t eat tomatoes so I think it is real nice of him to plant them for me and Alan. I am trying real hard to get all of my work done so I can get out of here.
I am one of those rare girls that does not like to shop but my summer shirts are falling apart so I am going to suck it up and get to a store. Maybe I will break my ten minute shopping record!

I love to goad Clyde because he almost always comes up with a funny I like to post. Laughter is very important to me and sometimes he makes me laugh so hard I have to gasp for break. So far, we haven’t had to call 911!
As I have mentioned before I have always thought Clyde was a handsome man and he still is after all these years. He thinks I am kind, blind, and out of my mind but I don’t agree.
Since yesterday was our anniversary I told him I married Gorgeous George. His reply was then why did you marry me, too? Ha ha! I am not a bigamist, you fool!

This is an exceptionally complex impasto oil with an elevated surface of small and large brushwork. The colors are continually modulated throughout the work. The painting is framed in a solid oak frame.

Here are two of my favorite Alan paintings of the first Birthday party he attended. The guest of honor was two years old. Alan jumped up an down when he saw all the toys to play with!
“Birthday Party” or “A Child’s View” is a painting done from a photograph I took at a two-year-old’s party. I have often been asked why the title is “Birthday Party” since there are no balloons, cake, etc.
The two-year-olds were involved in parallel play and I wanted to paint something that showed the viewer how that age group sees the world. Since they are usually on the floor playing by themselves their view is oftentimes hands and legs of adults hence the second title.
The Rest of the Party is a companion painting. Birthday Party or A Child’s View is the other painting of this wonderful event.
I had never heard of a Birthday party for two-year-olds before this one.
My son had such a great time there. The first painting has parallel play with-in the context of adult hands and feet. This one focuses of the interaction between the adults and toddlers.

My husband says a lot of strange things. That is putting it mildly. Anyway the other day he said he was going to make a peanut butter pie sandwich. He said that because he uses rice cakes instead of bread. I told him we didn’t have any pie to make a sandwich with.
He said he was going to make one anyway.
I said he was going to make a peanut butter sandwich pie because he is a fruit cake.

My sweet heart of a father-in-law died suddenly yesterday. We are all going down to be with my mother-in-law in a little while. He was a great father, grandfather, and friend.
We will all miss him very much.
Our son was their first grand child.
