Working at a hundred things at the same time but I am trying to get my latest commissioned painting of an enlargement of Wading on its way to Richmond. Had to take some pictures with very few mishaps. I didn’t trip over the tripod but I did have trouble attaching the camera to it. Sometimes the little gizmo fights me. Anyway, ran into a frame problem so I will be mailing the painting tomorrow.
I have a lot of new ideas for paintings and looking forward to starting them. I want to get back to my main pursuit which is colorful impasto landscape paintings. I also have some ideas from Pawleys Island visits and some wildlife ideas. What I don’t have is someone to add hours to the day. Oh well. I know I am not the only one that wants that sort of help.

We recently watched a movie that had an elaborate wedding. It involved a wedding planner, lots of guests, dance lessons for the wedding party, rehearsal dinner, lots of pre-wedding drama, etc.
We threw something together with the help of my Mom and just had the two immediate families at a club. I didn’t even want a cake but the minister said we should have a cake, but I did not stuff Clyde’s mouth with it. Don’t like that custom.
Anyway, after the movie with the fancy wedding Clyde said if I had wanted all of that stuff he would have gotten a speeding ticket zooming down the interstate in the opposite direction. I think our simple wedding was right for us.
If you like my work but don’t have any more room on your walls be sure to check out my paintings on just about anything but the kitchen sink on
Wow! Not my favorite week. Our Solar System sprang a leak and now we can’t use our hot water and it leaks every time we use the cold water. Both the plumber and the solar tech guy said this is the way it has to be until we get a replacement part for where it is leaking.
We will probably have to replace the whole unit. It is one of the first models and uses a water heater. The new ones provide direct electricity without going through a water tank. I have to keep heating water on the stove to do dishes while emptying buckets of water at the unit.
New roof, new car after one died, and now a new heating system. 2017 has been the Year of Spending Money. Yikes!

Clyde’s work phone and our landline have had another fight and they aren’t speaking to each other. I think they need counseling so they can get their tech act together. Between our dying solar system, phone trouble, and a new mouse running around our house, Clyde is feeling old.
Whenever he complains about being old I pretend I am older. I tell him that you are only as old as you feel which makes me about 85. He said he has rolled past 100 and can’t get up.
I finished Wildflower Mist and if I were not so tired I would put it on my website and here. I actually escaped today and went swimming! I can’t believe how warm the water was at the Aquatic Center. Usually it is a little hard to get in. Still have a lot to do so I need to publish this and as Aunt Bee said to Otis, Get to it!
Well, Clyde’s work phone and our phone have made up. He can now give me a wake up call on that phone instead of his cell phone. I am so aggravated with computers right now that it is hard to look on the funny side. The Twitter massacre and my inability to figure out my smart phone that is way smarter than me has me uptight. Thousands of twitter accounts were blocked over and over again. I was one of them. We still don’t know what the problem was. I am in now but I wouldn’t be surprised if they lock me out again.
Here’s a little old time religion for you. You have to believe in the Bible for this one. According to Genesis God made people physically work for their existence. We have invented many ways to avoid work and look what has happened to our environment and our bodies as a result. As Beatrice Author’s character in the hit show Maude said whenever she thought someone had done something wrong, “God will get you for that!” Just a thought from a crabby artist.
Here’s a joke to lighten my mood. My boss told me to have a good day so I went home. I am home and I will try to have a good day in spite of all my work.
I am very pleased with Wildflower Mist so far! It is quite different from my usual work. It is not from a dream but it does looks like one of my Dreamscapes. I have done a little more work on it and will replace the second stage file with the final file.

Friday we received a present on our back porch – a dead mouse. Clyde said it looked like it had been wounded so that is how we know it was a present. Yuck! later as I was going out I saw a cat near the car giving me a meaningful look. I told Clyde that it looked like the cat was asking me if I liked the present. I told it no and don’t bring me any more. Clyde said he had better get a bull dozer and go through his stuff because I am turning into a Cat Lady and he had better get going.
Not true and it would take more than a bull dozer. He may need to lob a few grenades. Just kidding! Since he has lost 25 pounds I can’t say the extra weight is more to love so I will just say the piles of his stuff in the computer room is more to love. I wish everyone could see the scowl on his face as I show him this post. I would take a picture but he would not like that.
I am so pleased to sell another original painting! As I have said many times I live to paint but I can’t take them with me so I am glad this painting has a great Kansas home! Oil paint is my main medium but sometimes I like to work in acrylics and I am pleased with this one. As always, prints are still available up to 60″ x 47″!
Halloween and Christmas decorations are at the stores now. A Witch in one aisle and Santa in the next. I bought one of those parrots that repeat what you say in a parrot voice. We had one a long time ago but it broke so now I can put one out on Halloween for the kids to laugh about. When we left the store there was a bake sale outside. It was called a Spook Sale. Clyde said that a Spook Sale must be when you don’t know what you are getting until you buy it and then you are scared when you find out.
