Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

Clyde is still working away on Mount Clydemore  which is becoming MountClydeless.  It sways to the right and then the left but things from the summit are being taken down and either eliminated or reassigned.

A lot of his naturalist records are being recorded on Cornell  and other sites where he hopes the information will be of use.

This room  looks like something you would see at a recycling station when it is full and people just leave their stuff so they don’t have to take it home again.

It used to bother me but considering all the important information that is all over the place, it doesn’t bother me now.

I will shout a big YES if it is straightened out!

As I have mentioned before, I like to think the reason our computer room is a disaster with all of Clyde’s archives is because he is a genius.  I read somewhere that geniuses are in to so many things they can’t possibly keep it all organized.

Okay, let’s go with that.  I call it Mount Clydemore and every once in a while it erupts!  Clyde has been working hard the last few days to try to straighten it out.  Good luck!

Anyway, there was an hilarious joke on Twitter  that we both got a big kick out of.

God gives his biggest battles to his greatest soldiers.

He must have me confused with Rambo.

Love it!  Clyde may need a Rambo to straighten out his mess.

Yesterday Clyde was watching the Miami Dolphins versus Pittsburgh Steelers.   I asked him if it was a good game.  He said it was great because he was not there.  Too cold.

Yesterday we met with an Insurance agent regarding the hole in our roof due to wind damage.  The contractor repaired it and said we should file for a new roof since there is so much wind damage including another hole over the car port.

Clyde is a very nice, accommodating guy – a little too nice so the day before yesterday I told him I needed to mention something he probably already knew.

Pack my bag and get out of here?

No.  Don’t tell the Insurance agent that it is all our fault and we are sorry he had to make the trip to check it out.

Okay, he wouldn’t say that but he really is a nice guy – a little too nice.

Fourth day of the new year and we are working on an insurance claim for our wind damaged roof.  Our heating system was making a funny noise last night.  I hope we won’t be calling about that.  The noise happened a while back and I called for help and, of course, there was no noise when the repairman arrived, just the aggravation of paying him to come and check so this time I am waiting for it to actually break before I call.  Here’s hoping that does not happen.  The roof problem is enough!

Insurance is always a hit or miss thing as we all know.  We are in the process of trying to get our Homeowners Insurance to pay for the wind damage on our roof.  The roof needs to be replaced.  I hope we can get them to come through after all these years of paying them but I have a feeling they will claim it is just wear and tear over the years.

Clyde had a great comment on this situation.  They will probably claim they have proof we are squatters and don’t even own the home.  Love it!  Just a joke.  No offense to insurance agents.

Painting can be such an aggravating experience.   What I want and what I get are not always the same thing.  Actually, as I told my students, you never get exactly what you want, but if you work hard you will get close.

I may have mentioned before something a teacher said to me that I think about a lot.

Scraping off paint is a good thing.  It means you are learning something.  The other day I asked Clyde what was the most important thing an artist learns when she scrapes paint off. He replied, not to bang your head against the wall?  No.  The very high cost of paint.

Here’s to a new year and hopefully some great sales.  I live to paint but I can’t take them with me and oil paint is very expensive.

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler

I like to wear decent clothes when I leave the house so I have to change a lot.  As soon as I get home I take off the jewelry and put on clothes that Good Will would probably hand back to me.

The other day as I was changing back into my house uniform Clyde was lying on the bed in his usual stained t-shirt and baggy pants that are either pjs or just look like pjs.

I told him that just because he wears his Sunday best around the house doesn’t mean I have to.

You can imagine the look he gave me.  Sometimes you don’t need pictures.
